Class B Golf 2007

Postby Thunder66 » Fri Apr 20, 2007 4:57 am

Hatton/Northwood won the Northwood Invitational yesterday, they tied with Grafton at 339 but won the tiebreaker.  The winner was Derek Callahan from Grafton with a 76.  For some reason it wasn't a good scoring day, there were near perfect weather conditions with a little wind and the course was in fairly good shape considering there was snow on it two weeks ago yet there were only three scores in the 70s and the team score of 339 was pretty high also

I'm guessing that was the younger Rustvang and Oak Grove's top 4 or 5 were missing for some reason because 409 is not Groveresque

Has Wheeling ran away with these 2 meets or are there other players out west capable of scores that low?  Cuz I haven't seen it in the east yet this year

Schultz is capable of shooting 60's, as I've witnessed it several times before (on courses besides his own, included).  I've seen him shoot a 31 on 9 holes on his home course (which can be deceptively difficult with the rough conditions of the fairways and the fact that the greens are inconsistent and in very bad shape).

He's struggled a bit this year, but don't count him out.  He's very capable, as he proved last year with his tournament results.

Interesting sidebar to Watford meet.  Wheeling 1st with a 68, Marshall from Hazen was second with a 73, and Ryan Seil, the freshman from Trinity Christian was third with a 78.

very nice day up in Kildeer.... and i think that Kildeer definetly proved that they are the team to beat

There was a tournament at Rose Creek today.  Can't remember the name of the kid that won it, but he shot a 72.  And Park Christian won the team title.

there would have been no reason for Killdeer not to win that tournament, if you are near the top of your region at all you should be able to win at your home course.  And with the shape that the greens were in that day, it would have made it way easier to putt on them if you play there every day.

At the Oak Grove meet at Rose Creek in Fargo on Tuesday Park Christian did win it with a score of 310.  They also claimed the individual honors with Jon Sherman winning it with a score of 72.  Oak Grove came in 2nd with a score of 337. Hatton-Northwood and Detroit Lakes JV came in tied for 3rd with a score of 338.  It was a perfect day for golf and the scores didn't exactly show that with only having two people shoot in the 70's and both being from Park Christian.

wheeling should have been lost by 2....technically signing an incorrect scorecard means DQ....
