Eric Antonson from Hatton Northwood is probably going to be great his Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. He was only an eight grader last year and went to state and he can only get better. He is a really good golfer. His dad is the coach so he is coming from a good golfing family. Eric will probably be taking home state titles and probably will be getting big time College scholarships.

I doubt it. Just because your dad is the golf coach doesnt mean crap. Just because he went to state his eighth grade year doesnt mean he will ever win a state title do you understand how good you have to consistantly be to win a state title let alone how lucky you have to be. I could name 10 people over the lasy two years that havent won a state title and are very good golfers.

besides the obvious Hazen group, New Salem's Jared Kautzman has the potential to be at the top. He is pretty cool headed. Needs to work on his putting so he doesn't three putt 8 times a round. Heard he is going to be using the same swing coach that the 2007 golf champ used.

I think that adam johnson, of mpcg, has to be thrown in among the elite golfers in 2009. there are some rumors that he is already verbaly committed to play golf at jamestown next fall. the wet spring hasnt effected johnson as he has still been able go hit golf balls in his yard. Also his mom bought him a new McGregor 3 wood for christmas and i quote johnson as saying, "man is that thing smoooth. drives just like a cadillac."

You guys can say all u want but the best golfer in the state this year is clearly Adam Jorde. Now what u want to do is watch this guy all year because he is spectacular. Reminds me of a golfer i once coached from the mayville area by the name of Mike Garcia. He rocks. He dropped a few pounds and really increased his club head speed. Hard worker once he finally reaches practice, the guy knows everyone in the state and is always talking and tardy for practice.

Never heard of this Adam Jorde kid...or Mike Garcia. But I do know one thing. Adam Johnson is a scratch golfer! He was at his dads place in virginia over easter and posted rounds of 73 and 81

Tanner Carlson-LaMoure should be able to contend this year as a sophmore. He lettered as a 7th and 8th grader and played baseball last year, but is determined to challenge for a state placing this year. He definitely has the work ethic to do so.

Nick Liebel. He placed 2nd last year so he should be one of the front runners this year.

I dont remember Antonson being a top scorer at any meets.. Grafton has some good young golfers. Hanson got third in region as an 8th grader and qualified last year as a freshman shooting in the 70's in meets. Callahan was a freshman last year and also qualified while shooting in the 70's.
