i belive there are going to be four teams competing for the title this year. Grafton, Hazen, Killdeer, and Oak Grove.

the individual will most likely come from someone on one of those four teams.

i believe st john will also be a contender, i mean they did great last year and they returned everybody, and i also think cobrehhti parisien will be contending for the state individual honors also, he made it on the all-state team twice in a row and last year he tied the state low with a 72 it was just to bad that his first round was horrible

I think chad marshal is going to take it this year .. he just had a hard time putting last year and as a freshman he placed in the top ten

Central Cass could be a threat this year they lost 4 seniors but have 4 juniors that can pick up the slack and they have 2 seniors that have both gone to state for individuals Paul Johnson and Chris Silbernagal

Hazen has four of its six returning, they only lost two seniors and three of those four placed in the top ten at state last year.

The west is going to be good again, i would say they will make up at least six of the top ten, Killdeer, and Hazen will have very talented individuals, like the dufaults, marshall, hillerude, borud, and dietz.

Look at last year's top ten and see who returns, as well as the ten below that. Any of those as well as those who worked hard last summer could move up. Not mentioned in the list from the west was Ryan Seil from Trinity Christian, an all stater as a freshman last year, as as well as Brock Overbo from Divide county, who was just two strokes from the top ten, as well as Watford's Nick Liebel, a Freshman this year who did well at state last year as well. Bowman has several kids who could move up.

two kids in the west are young, and from what I've heard, good(and they also know it). Their ego's might be their downfall.....New Salem also returns a good young golfer(jared Kautzman)...but they lost too much to be a serious contender in their region this year....

I don't know how the favorite is anyone other than Oak Grove. There was not a single senior on the last state championship team and they won it on a course most of them had never played before that weekend. This year its in their own backyard and they'll be itching to continue the dynasty that John Erickson has created down there.

hazen will win it outright. They should have won it last year. Just with the 4 guys they had there they would of won by 20 strokes.

i played with the guys from hazen the day all that happend and both of the rules that were broken were brand new in the last 2 years and one of the kinds that was caught was only and 8th grader at the time...and the haveing to ware a polo for the ful 18 was always a rule in class A but only a rule starting last year in class B and u still cant take away from them that they still would have won reginals and state by quite a few strokes and at state didnt even have there 2 or 4 golfer...so watch out for them this year

Even if they were new rules, they should have known them. Whether it was their fault, or their coaches for not telling them the rule, they still need to be held accountable. (Which they were.) No more excuses for these fellas....lets just hope they learned from their mistakes.
