Central Cass easily defeats Richland 3 - 0. I don't have the exact scores in front of me, but it was something like 25 - 5, 25 - 6, 25-11.

Region 2 looks a lot stronger than region 1. Is that the case every year, or just how this year worked out? Or is it not that stronger?

Do you mean District 2 looks stronger than District 1??

If you do, then yeah it tends to look that way in VB and BB every year.

District 2 is much stronger than District 1...but Milnor and Wyndmere/Lidgerwood can play with anyone in District 2.

W-L lost to CC 3-0 and OG 3-2 but beat Kindred 3-0
CC beat OG 3-0 and Kindred 3-2 (however, Kindred has defeated CC twice in tourneys)
Kindred beat OG 3-0 and Milnor 3-2
NC beat CC 3-2 and OG 3-1, but lost to Kindred 3-0 (I think)
OG beat Milnor 3-1.

So this kinda shows that anyone can play and beat anyone on any given night

District 2 Tourney:
#1 Central Cass vs. #8 Maple Valley
#4 Oak Grove vs. #5 Richland
#2 Kindred vs. #7 FSHP
#3 Northern Cass vs. #6 Enderlin

Here are my Predictions:

Semi-finals:
Central Cass vs. Oak Grove
Kindred vs Northern Cass

Both final night matches will be 5-game, hard-fought battles.

3rd/4th:
Northern Cass vs. Oak Grove

1st/2nd:
Central Cass vs. Kindred

And I believe the tournament will end just as the teams are seeded right now:

# 1 Central Cass
# 2 Kindred
# 3 Northern Cass
# 4 Oak Grove

I am reconsidering my predicition of Northern Cass getting third. They have some turmoil and some injuries and they lost last night to a not-very-good Central Valley team 3 - 0. They might get upset first round to Enderlin and if they do make it to the 3rd place game, I don't see them beating Oak Grove.

yeah I saw that result last night too...Central Valley is a surprising team in district 3. They seem to be able to play well against Hillsboro and H-N this year. But I do agree something is going on with NC right now...Thursday should be a great day of some VB at NC

Can someone kindly explain to me how these class B districts/regions work?

Obviously the winner of regions goes to state/

But how do they determine what teams go to regions from district? DO you just have to win your first round matc in districts and you have qualified for regions and they contnue playing for seeding?

well...every district is different. I know in districts 1 & 2 if you win your first match you are qualified for regionals; however some districts do have if you lose your first match you can still come back around and make it to regionals by winning your next match and then winning the region qualifier match (ex. district 3)

Does anyone know how they pick the 16-member all-district team? It doesn't seem right that the 4th place team gets just as many girls (3) as the 1st place team. You can't tell me that everyone standing on that court were better players than several of the Kindred (or Central Cass for that matter) girls who were watching from the sidelines. Kindred should have probably had at least 5 girls on the all-district team.

4th place didn't get 3. Oak Grove only got 2 named to the team (Selisker and Rust)

Usually 1st, 2nd and 3rd gets 3 players; 4th, 5th and 6th can get up to 2 players; 7th and 8th get 1 player each.

Each coach puts up players from their team, so it could be 3-4-5 etc, then all the coaches vote on who they feel is the best players in the district. Sometimes you have better players from teams that get 3 on the all district team and some coaches like to get a player from their team, so they really push for that player. So the way I see it, you might not or if ever get the best 16 players on the all district team.
