No surprises in the first round with Red River (3-0), West Fargo (3-1), Shanley (3-1) and South (3-0) winning. Devils Lake did give Shanley a scare but the Deacons rallied after being behind fairly late in the fourth set.

I have to pick the top seeds in each of the games. Shanley looked flat against South, so North could pull the upset. Red River looks to be a notch above the rest of the EDC.
