If the regular season was over tomorrow.....who would be representing each region?

Definitely not H-N.
Hillsboro beat them and they're going to state.

Yes, Hillsboro did sneak by with a win against H-N, but Hillsboro still proved to be the better team in that game, and they will go on to state...

I bet Hazen or Beulah is the one that wins Region 7 this year!

I think LMM will be representing Region 3, not Linton. LMM has not lost a match this year, and their beating teams easily. They have lost a couple games in tournaments, but in the regular season they are unblemished. They have a strong core of seniors and are very experienced.

you might be right....however, LMM plays in a weak district and plays a weak schedule.

Region 7 is up in the air. First Trinity is the team to beat after defeating Hazen early in the year. Then Beulah beats Trinity, so Hazen must be the front-runner. Finally, Beulah beats Hazen on Hazen's home court. It could be a wild one!

Hatton-Northwood also had a death of a teacher that taught in their school the day of the Hillsboro game. They'll be tough competition in districts this upcoming week...

i can see new salem possibly beating center for a region title. they are a rollercoaster team but have shown they can outlast and outplay when it counts. they beat shiloh after trailing 2-0. i know they have lost to center already but when they show up, they show up!

If Hillsboro is a region contender that doesn't say much for their region. I've seen them 3 times and was never impressed.

edit: I've only seen them two times.
2nd edit: I have seen them three times: twice in a tournament and one regular season match

Another sleeper in Region 7 could be New England. They beat Dix Trinity in 4 games last night.

That's true. It won't matter who from region 3 makes it to state, they still cannot compete with most the other teams advancing to state. However, I don't think LMM or anyone from their district will take the region.

That is untrue. LMM just beat Lidgerwood, a team that has strong outside hitters and great depth in the back court. Lidgerwood has also beaten Lisbon, one of the top teams in the state. Even though Region 3 may be a weak region throughout, the top 3 teams are quite strong and possess extreme talent. Kidder Co. Steele is more of an up and down team, however, and Linton and LMM are quite consistent. Any three of these teams could go to state. They do have a chance to compete as well, just because they are in a weak region, does not mean they cannot compete.

LMM has also defeated Steele 3-1 in the regular season. However, they have failed to defeat Linton at the Linton invitational. Keep in mind, they were missing a MH. Also, I believe that Sam Fetting was very sick championship night of districts, which could be why Linton faltered to Steele.

Linton and LMM will be playing each other at regional Semi-finals next Tuesday. I would expect which ever team wins from this semi-final game will advance to state. Unless Steele plays a certainly flawless night on Thursday. Steele WILL be in the championship, unless there is some kind of huge upset. They have an easy bracket.

I think it will be Hazen or Trinity coming out of this region. There has been some off the court trouble with a Beulah Girl plus the coach does not know how to treat the girls with any respect.

I've been to quite a few of Beulah's matches. I notice that Coach Peterson likes to yell, but that isn't disrespectful. He's just very animated and expects a lot from his kids. Unfortunately, most kids can't handle being yelled at. Kids are used to being coddled and handled with 'kid gloves'. I think that Beulah is leaps and bounds ahead of where they were last year. It doesn't hurt for kids to have to be accountable, and their is nothing Coach Peterson can do about the player who was caught drinking during the season.

I agree...Coach Peterson is pretty well respected by his peers...he knows the game well, and expect alot of his kids. There's nothing wrong with having expectations.
