Top Infielders

Postby deere » Tue Sep 26, 2006 10:52 am

There was a post for top pitchers so its only right that we start one about the infielders so who are the top infielders? One that comes to mind is Holen from Lamoure pretty solid from SS.

Nick Lang is a very good 3rd basemen.  should be interesting to see how steele's defense is set up this year.

Chad Demers from grafton is the best infielder in the state
Strikeouts are boring - besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls. More democratic.

Yeah, demers plays short when i pitch.  I just thought id throw his name out there cuz hes good and most people know him as a hockey player.  He's not the fastest but any ball hit in his range isn't gettin through.  He's got a slightly better than average arm

Top infielders that I know. I think that Klinske from Grafton is a solid infielder, I saw him play second once and he did good, he has an amazing arm. Mark Bakkum from Steele plays a very good shortstop, rarely making stupid mistakes. Sheldon Harding from Midkota is good. James Olderbach from Lakota is one of the best shortstop players I've ever seen class b wise. His arm is also amazing for how short he is. Severson from Dakota Prairie is good at shortstop, but, he does some catching as well, at least he did in summer ball this past year. I don't really know any other really good infielders around the state. Demers? I've never heard of him. I just thought of another one, theres a third baseman for Thompson that is really good, but, I don't recall his name right now. I'll look around and probably find it. What are some other ones...infielders are going to be important this year with wood bats coming to ND.

Did the shortstop from Thompson graduate?

Wasn't there 3rd baseman Randy Syrstad?

The shortstop was Wurtz and I believe some kid named Swatlowski also played there before he got hurt. Wurtz of course went to Iowa Western for baseball but I don't believe he'll be playing shortstop, most likely first base from what I've heard. Yes, the third basemans name is Srystad or something like that. He was very sound defensively, and should be an impact player this year.

Demers was only a freshman last year. That's probably why you haven't heard of him yet. Give him a year and his name will be out there.

Wurtz didn't play legion. And his best infield is catcher. Swatlowski had amazing range in the games I saw of him.
