The best game pitched huh? Did you watch any of the two games last year at state legion when velva beat thompson TWICE? Which was just as good or even better lineup than they had this year at high school.

How can you say that it's the best game pitched ever in North Dakota?  Have you seen every game pitched in the history of ND?  Grover wasn't outstanding, he caught Thompson, a beatable team, offguard and a little overconfident.  WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH GROVER ANYWAYS!  He dosen't have a overpowering fastball, dosen't have a curve, dosen't have a changeup that is worth throwing even though he threw it anyways.  HECK, WHY NOT JUST SAY THAT WAS THE GREATEST GAME EVER PITCHED IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL!! I NOMINATE GROVER FOR MLB HALL OF FAME NEXT YEAR!!!! and also, i've seen much better games pitched besides that one, and i'm sure those two guys that started this topic play with grover and think hes so great. Well, hes going to disappear at Mayville, because hes nothing special..bison_18 and baseball, you are right IMO..

Those wins were both by different pitchers, throwing complete games,

bison_18, i saw that and it was simply put one of the best showing of pitching dominance i've ever seen, i couldnt believe how velva shut them down so easily, was it bruner and who was the other pitcher...

Morey's stuff isn't near as nasty as Grovers.  I faced Morey in the first round of the high school state in 2005.  It wasn't that special good speed fast ball and pretty good curve, but you could tell when it was coming. I faced Grover in high school, his fast ball tails, his change up catches you off gaurd, and his curveball isn't to bad.  Facing both of them in my life I would have to say Grover is by far the best pitcher I have ever seen and he has nice feet.

Well I do believe Morey shut you guys down(cant remember how many runs were scored, got out of bases loaded no outs in extras) for what 14 innings? If you knew it was comin it must have been good stuff if your team didn't hit it.If you were at state legion, you would've seen two OUTSTANDING performances by both morey and bruner. Anyone who watched those games can testify to that. Ask anyone who saw it.

Shut us down for 14 innings? The score was 6-5.  5 runs is shutting us down? The game was actually only 12 innings, he pitched 11 of them and Bruner came in for the last inning.  Must not of been paying attenion while you were playing. I mean you do play right?  I'll give him credit hes a good pitcher, but in my opinion hes not as good as Grover.

The game was a while ago, so its a little difficult to remember everything alright? But i'm just sayin if u saw morey and bruner at state legion u may have a different opinion.

i think that grover and morey are about equal, because morey has a better breaking ball and grover is left handed

Try throwing in the state championship game in 90 degree weather with a neck brace on 9 innings throwing 160 some pitches. Might not have thrown a no hitter or a shut out but it won them their third straight. Was greatest pitching performance I've seen.

They do have one of the best baseball programs in the state year in and year out. Beating them is no easy thing but like you said they are beatable, just like anybody in the state is.

It's all opinion, I have what I think is the greatest pitching moment, some people may just be saying it to start an argument or to be funny. What do you think is the best pitching moment?
