One name " Gaige Dunn" LaMoure. It's a no brainer, I told his father 3 years ago he's got potential to all the way ( lefties get special attention) and now he may make me look good. He's got the big arm, I would guess he throws 88-90, but he also has the build to put another 2-3 mph on his fastball. He had some crazy numbers this year at state, something like 18 K's in 7 inning game and he is the best class B pitcher in the state.

And no, I'm not from LaMoure but I do see LaMoure play at least 10x a year. I'm not sure on this kids work ethic ( he's a little chubby, so maybe he's lazy?) but if he works hard he will get drafted.

I know alot of posts on here are people voting for themselves, but really this is a no brainer. And if anybody has seen this kid pitch they would back me up.

I've seen Dunn throw. He's good, but he doesn't throw 90 mph. People on here underestimate how fast 90 really is.

Dunn is a great pitcher but saying he will be drafted this year would be a stretch. I have seen him on a radar gun at 83-84. It may look 90 because everyone else who people think throws 80-84 is only throwing 75-78. He needs work on his breaking ball and be able to locate it as well as improve his overall mechanics. If he can get his mechanics worked out he could be a consistent mid to upper 80's guy. He needs to develop additional plus pitches to be successful at the next level (College) which he definitely can do. I agree he is one of the top pitchers in Class B but I have seen many more polished pitchers with the same velocity that do not get drafted even out of college.

I have played against Dunn and watched him pitch the last 3 or 4 years now and he is good. At state legion last year someone said he had been clocked at 85 or 86. I dont know if that was from before the tournament or during but still thats crazy. Another person at state legion who knows a scout said that lefties who throw between 85 and 90 with a nasty curveball, which Dunn has a pretty good one as well, are gonna be looked at for the draft.

So 78-80. Given this was taken in the fall when arms are not conditioned or may be worn down from summer ball. Low to mid 80's is more of an accurate number. Like I said before, 90 is a rarity. I don't want to come off negative but I'd be surprised if anybody in the class B can top out at 88. It's the truth. We live in North Dakota. High schoolers in the southern states roll out of bed and throw mid to high 80's (whether or not they have anything to go with it is what makes them pitchers). A lot of them are single sport athletes that are out there every day playing long toss. Few class B pitchers in recent memory had velocities that high. The ones that come to mind were all very big power pitchers.

I agree. He throws strikes, gets hit hard, and Velva's good defense gets him some wins.

How old is he? Does he play legion? We played Rolette about eight times last season and I've never heard of him.

They still did really well last year without him. They should be a contender to go to state this year in Legion. I would imagine they will be a contender in high school too but I don't know who else is in their districts and all that stuff.

daniel quinn: larimore.. doesn't get much attention as he is from a crappy baseball town... his record was something like 1-4, but he had something like 50 of his teams 80 strikeouts in 26 innings..... he seemed legit when we played them in hatton- him and bilden duked it out for 9 innings

Did you see him own Velva last year at state legion? When he is in top form he is almost untouchable.
