I've seen Austan Schmidt pitch for Harvey highschool at regionals against Lakota pulling off the win with 8 strike outs with a final score 11-0. He is a pretty solid player on the mound

I disagree. He is definitely one the best eighth graders in the state. Don't be mad because Dakota Prairie beat New Rockford 14-0 in the Red Willow Tournament and he was 3-3 with 7 RBI's. He will definitely prove all summer long that he is one of the best up coming players in the state. I garauntee he will push for an all region spot next year for Midkota as a freshman. The thing that makes that statement the most ignorant thing to say is the "speed" statement. Speed is not Austin's game, he is a smart player that hits to all parts of the field from the left side of the plate. He is a great contact hitter that does what is necessary to move runners into scoring position or drive them in.

I will give it to Austin... he is a good player

Harvey will be playing Dakota Prarie later in the year for babe ruth how do you think the outcome of that game will be Austan Schmidt vs. Austin Monson?

Austin Monson has everything but the speed. Person ripping Monson kid is an idiot and probably isn't good and sits bench.

And just to think two of the guys named play on the same babe ruth team. Monson is very good but Colton Anderson got overshadowed on the Dakota Praire Babe Ruth team last summer. He is a very good hitter and i've heard he isn't a bad pitcher either.

Colton Anderson is a good player. We played them this spring in baseball and he started for there varsity team that went undefeated until state. The game we played them he pitched n he has good speed for an 8th grader and excellent control. His game reminds me of seth nichols from DP he throws hard the only thing different is that Colton throws a changeup along with his fastball curveball. Hes goona be a solid player especially when he gets older.

There is a good group of 8th graders in Thompson. Brandon Walsh is a solid pitcher and Ryne Dolleslager is a solid catcher.
