Who will be some younger players to watch in this years state tournament?

one good young player to watch is  Freshman Trenton Bruner from Velva... he went 5 for 9 in the Region 6 tournament with a 1 home run and a double, he also got 4-5 RBI's.

and oh yeah....who does everyone believe are the Top 5 players in this years state tournament? here are my 5:

1. Thompson-Wurtz-nothing more needs to be said
2. Langdon-Justin Flink-makes plays at short and pitches well                            3. Bishop Ryan-Huettl-he is a gamer
4. Steele-Dawson--Mark Bakkum-amazing athlete
5. Velva-Weidler-puts up numbers

Velva is very overrated and it will show at state. Minot Ryan should have no problem with that game.

Anyone who makes the state tournament is not overrated.

Just wondering, since they are located so close to each other, did Velva play Bishop Ryan this year in baseball?

velva lost something like 8-2 in a seven-inning game...i think they had 8 errors or something like that, so there is a pretty good chance their state game will be closer

For everyone who says Thompson wont blow out Midkota i say it will be ATLEAST 8 runs.

its hard to believe Velva is overrated but I can see where you are coming from...they dont face any great pitchers in their region and when they have they have struggled.
Assuming bishop ryan throws their ace(huettl) they may struggle at the plate considering they were beat by him 8-2 earlier this year. Pitching depth also seems to be a question for Velva.
