region tournaments results

the region 8 tournament kicks off with standing rock taking on shiloh today (may 19) with the winner taking on steele on may 20. medina and washburn also play on may 20.

more than likely i'll get results from regions 8 and 3 and maybe region 1 but probably not, so i'll pass them along as they roll in...feel free to do the same for the other regions or the ones i've already listed...the more the marry-ier.

may 20, in lamoure

llm (lamoure-litchville-marion) won on an rbi from ben watkins in extra innings. watkins was 2-for-4 with 2 rbi and a run scored. derek willey was 4-for-4 with 2 rbi and a run scored and ben holen had two hits.

northern cass was led by nate king's three-run home run in the seventh while lucas bush was 2-for-4.

northern cass won the early game of the day, topping enderlin-maple valley, 3-2. no stats or lines from that game...all i got is the score.

In region 4 Cavalier beat St Thomas Valley 9-4 today. I also think Grafton won today also.

I suppose Monday is Medina vs. Shiloh for elimination, Washburn vs. Steele-Dawson to clinch a spot in the regional finals. Medina-Shiloh winner vs. Washburn-SD loser for the other regional final spot on Tuesday. Then the championship is thursday. (guessing from steele-dawson's schedule w/ help from below)

may 22, Region 8 tourney

washburn knocked off steele-dawson with a two-out double in the top of of the seventh with the bases loaded from Nathan Richards to win 6-4. steele's steve berreth had a three-run homer in the third and chris heins had a solo shot in the fifth. washburn's durkee (not sure which one) had a solo homer in the second.

mark bakkum pitched seven innings, striking out eight and took the loss while jeff schafer entered the game in the fifth and got the win.

steele plays shiloh, which beat medina earlier in the day, on may 23 with the winner to take on washburn for the potential championship.

may 22, region III tournament

wild day in harvey...dakota prairie and midkota won their opening-round games and then the knights (defending region champs) knocked off regular season region champ lakota 6-5 while midkota fell to second-seeded Harvey 4-3.

tournament continues may 23 with carrington taking on lakota at 10 a.m. and pbk taking on midkota at 12:30 p.m. the winners of those games play against each other at 5:30 p.m. while dakota prairie plays harvey at 3 p.m.

no boxes, but some scores moved on the wire for those tracking results...looks like a great game between thompson and hatton-northwood.

Grafton beat somebody 24-15 either st. thomas or north border

Lamoure-L-M swept Kindred today in the region 1 championship. First game was 3-1, and second game in 12 innings 3-2.

LaMoure has won the State Babe Ruth Championship in 2005 and 2001, and went to State Legion in 2003 and 2004.

Steele beat Shiloh 22-1 and Washburn 7-4. Steele and Washburn play Thursday at 5 PM for the state berth. Not sure who got all the hits but heard the scores.

thompson will either face harvey, midkota or dakota prairie in the opening round of the state tournament as they are the only teams alive in region 3. dakota prairie and midkota play today at 12:30 with the winner to play harvey at 3. if harvey loses another game will be played at 5:30 with the winner going on to the state tourney.
