Can't imagine anyone in the eastern part of the state will open up this week....unless they get out there and shovel!

VC has 2 maybe 3 players that can play. Jenson and Zitzow.

Larimore/Midway is going to be average at best. Their future success is in Freshman and JH players.

MPCG 17
Steele-Dawson 8
This was a pretty ugly game...Steele has a long way to go if they want to make another run for a region title.

do you know if steele played in Velva on friday? if they did that was 3 days in a row they had games....not as an excuse because everyone knows you have to win 3 days in a row to get out of the region and then 3 days in a row at state.

Central prairie beat Midkota 3-1 last night. CP was hitless in the whole game. Nic Harding started the game and cp got 3 unearned. Jeff Bauman showed good things on the hill as he wet three innings striking out 3 batters. Josh Quick pitched the last two innings facing 7 batters and striking out 5. Midkota has to work out a few kinks to be ready for DP on friday.

just looking at boxes (haven't seen them play this year yet) it seems like they will have enough offense to be a contender in the region tournament. i have no clue as to how their pitching is and if they will have enough arms to hang with a team like lakota which seems to be pretty solid when it comes to their starting pitchers.

I know they have Kolstad and Berg that can both throw but im not sure bout anybody else I dont know which one is Marc Guler but he obviously can throw. I dont know who that is because there are so many gulers from NRS. Maybe they will make some noise this year though huh. Or is Steel just down this year?

i think steele is down from the last couple of years, but i think they are still an okay team. they've got some guys that can hit and some that can pitch, but they don't have the overall depth that really seemed to be a key strength for them when they won the state tournament and made a run last year.

seems like they are a bit on the younger side this year, too, whereas the last couple of years they had kids that had been playing a while. thinking specifically about the mayville game where they led 5-2 or something like that and then lost late, they committed something like 11 errors. to me anyway, that looks like a team that just is still finding itself a bit. i think it is early and they should come around, but for right now they are a little green.
