random stats from carrington/lakota game. i am curious to know how olderbak gave up one hit but was charged five earned runs. it is possible, but it seems fairly wacky.

Carrington 5, Lakota 3
LAK 010 000 2 - 3 3 4
CAR 010 040 x - 5 1 3
James Olderbak and Chris Hoerth; Josh Simonsen and Chris Bahm. W-Simonsen. L-Olderbak.

Carrington
Josh Simonsen 0-3, 1 RBI. 7 IP, 3H 3R 2 ER, 4 BB, 7 K.
Kyle Bahm 1-2, 1 RBi, 1 RS

Lakota
James Olderbak 1-2 1R, 2-2 SB. 6 IP, 1H, 5ER, 7BB, 4K.
Chris Hoerth 1-4, 1RBi 3-3 SB

Region 3 seedings should play out at the end of this week and the beginning of next week.

Thursday New Rockford at Lakota

Friday New Rockford at Dakota Prairie

Monday Dakota Prairie at Lakota

Next Thursday Dakota Prairie at Carrington

Next Saturday New Rockford at Carrington

Dakota Prairie has 1 loss to Lakota.
Lakota has 2 losses to Carrington and New Rockford.
New Rockford has 2 losses to Dakota Prairie and Carrington
Carrington has 2 losses to Lakota and Dakota Prairie

I don't know their official records.

I didn't think the region would be this way coming into the season, but Carrington and New Rockford have picked up 2 big wins against Lakota. It should be a very interesting finish to the year and a great regional tournament.

Dakota Prairie beat Lakota in a good game on Monday (5-2). I thought Lakota was outcoached in this one. Nichols pitched for DP and Olderbak pitched for Lakota. Both pitchers through very well and the game was close throughout. I thought Olderbak kinda shot himself in the foot with 2 errors in the field during DP's 4 run inning. Nichols through strikes and got ahead of batters all night long. Niether team had a whole lot of hits in the game. I think DP had a few more then Lakota, however. Hoerth just missed a three run homer late in the game that was snagged by the center fielder feet from the fence. That hit could have changed the game and made it a little more interesting at the end. I beleive that DP will have the #1 seed going in to the Region tournament and Lakota should be #2.

I went to the Lakota DP game. I thought it was a very good game played by both teams. A couple close calls at home for both teams. Not to many errors, but I'd say Lakota made their errors at the wrong time. It gave DP a couple more runners in their 4 run inning. They had already scored 2, but an error led to 2 more runs. Both teams had 3 or less errors. Hourth did get good wood on the ball in the 7th that would have made it 5 to 4 with DP still up if it went over the fence.

Harvey beat Carrington 3 to 1 in 9 innings last night. This gives both Lakota and Carrington 3 losses in the Region. In order for Carrington stay tied for the 2 seed they have to beat both Dakota Prairie on thursday and New Rockford on saturday. Dakota Prairie has 1 region loss and play in Carrington on Friday and have a double header against Midkota on Saturday.

My Predictions for regional Seedings are 1. DP 2. Lakota 3. New Rockford 4. Carrington 5. Harvey 6. Midkota If New Rockford beats Carrington on Saturday, they have the 3 seed to themselves. If Carrington wins they get the 3 seed because of head to head against New Rockford.

The paper listed Carington having 4 losses, not three in the Region. Which one is correct?

Lakota 10 runned Langdon on Thursday. Olderbak hit a HR and was 2-4 and Hoerth threw a no hitter along with going 3-4. I was very immpressed with Lakota. I did not even no that Hoerth really pitched, but he threw hard and completely shut down Langdon. Lakota could be tuff to beat down the road if Hoerth can consistently throw like he did on Thursday and be a third good pitcher for Lakota.

Yeah was a pretty good game! Out in rainy weather B.Kolsted an M.Allmars for NR both had home runs hit 2 HRS in 3 batters was pretty surprising but Carrington pulled off the win good luck to both teams

LLM 9, Enderlin 0. The LLM Loboes take on the FSHP Spartans in LaMoure on Tuesday. This game will determine who has the #1 seed in the region. FSHP beat LLM in Hope last week 6-3. The news showed FSHP getting their second loss of the season to Kindred-Richland tonight. Is this right? If it is, both FSHP and LLM have 2 losses on the season. This will be a great game to watch.

suppose to be a north wind Tuesday which blows out to right field at LaMoure's field. Definitely a hitter's wind.

acording to kmav.com llm won 3-2 today. if fshp wouldnt have lost to kindred they would have had the tie breaker over llm because of run differential. However, LLM will now be the number one seed in the region 1 tournament.

This was a terrific game to watch. Obviously better for the LLM fans, but still a great game. Dunn and Severson both pitched well. Dunn had a no hitter going into the 6th (and 9 SO), but walked the lead off and then Kainz muscled a high fast ball out into left center to tie the game at 1 each. Dunn then hit the lead off in the 7th and walked the next batter. Frost used some small ball to advance the runners. Watkins then came in to relieve Dunn and threw a hard breaking curve into the dirt that Gentzkow couldn't handle and FShp had their 2nd run. Gentzkow got a game winning Texas leager with two outs and the bases loaed in the bottom of the 7th to win it.

So now LLM and FSHP split in the regular season. Will they get a rubber match on Monday? It's hard to say as Region 1 has some excellent teams and Thursday's games are single elimination. I'm looking forward to it.
