steele-dawson-wing-tuttle-pettibone-napoleon and velva split a pair in both team's season openers in steele friday, march 31.

in the first game steele won 4-3 (can't remember the score exactly, but i remember they won by a run in the bottom of the sixth) and in the second game velva put up five runs in the first inning and won by 10 in three innings.

i'm sure this is exactly what everyone expected in this game.  #3 in the state vs #7 is supposed to be a good game.  i have a feeling both games will be closer next week when the 2 teams play up in velva.  these teams are both better i think then teh 10-0 game says

I have talked to the coach from SDNWTP and he told me they have only had one outside practice and have the team was gone on a field trip.

Well reguardless of who was outside and who wasn't, it's pretty early in the season and all of the teams will be a little rusty. I look for both teams to be doin well as the season goes on.

I saw in the paper today that Washburn & Max split.  Washburn's stud, Eric Eberle was the one to get the loss.  Was it just a bad game on his part or is Max really that good.

I'm not real sure what happened in that game, but washburn didn't help their pitcher out very much. Klabunde is a good pitcher, but not unhittable.

Yes i saw he had 8 SO and Washburn is known for getting the bat on the ball.

I'm from Rolette and I went to Harvey on Tuesday even though we lost in both games in the second game that Lorenz kid pitched the second game and he did half-way decent but a good hitter can easily be able to hit him

He was clocked in triple digits a few times in PeeWee. Wouldn't suprise me if his change up now was an even 100

Guys I'm going to lock this topic to get off the subject of Tanner.  We can start a new topic relating to class b all-state baseball but we need to redirect it back to the topic thanks.

4/05/06 - Ryan wins season opener

The bats came up big for the Bishop Ryan baseball team in its opening season doubleheader against Rugby Tuesday. The Lions won the first game 9-2 and the second 12-5.
"Our pitching was real strong and the top fo the lineup hit really well," Ryan head coach Bryan Kramer said.
Jordan Huettl, the winning pitcher in the first game, had 10 RBIs through the two games, hitting a grand slam in the second. Braden Bosch pitched the win in the second game.
Ryan's second-team defense showed a little rust committing six errors in the second game. Both teams combined for a total of 13 errors in game two.
