Top Teams in each Section

Postby Tigger » Thu Jul 05, 2007 3:23 am

Hope-Finley always seems to be short a few guys which is probably why their overall record isn't all that impressive (10-11).  I am a little surprised that they jumped to the top of section 3 so quickly; I thought they would still be a year away from competing for the top two spots, but the guys they added for the summer are making a really big impact.

i think a lot of teams would get better by adding two starters from a team tah got fourth at state the year before.

At the Devils Lake tourney, Carrington beat Rollette 4-1, Pat Bulzomi got the Win with 6 K's and walked 3 gave up 3 hits and Trevor Scott got the loss by striking out 10 and walking 3 or 4 with also three hits.

What were the other Devils Lake tourney scores?

langdon won 11-8 i believe it was to take the tourney. the field was kinda crappy from all the rain earlier. grafton munich game got cancelled but it didnt matter because neither of us had a shot to make the ship. munichs been struggling the past few games with errors. against devils lake facing Greene we lost 12-7. we gave up 6 unearned runs and left a total of 12 runners on base. and against harvey picked up another lose 4-0 giving up only 2 hits and 2 unearned runs.

langdon really hit the ball well, the umps were very questionable for both teams and their was some really bad calls, i was really surprised harvey the ball so well, one stat, casey frantz hit 4 homeruns in the last 3 games of the tournament, and harvey  hit a total of 7 in the whole tournament, 5 in one game, not too bad for them haha

any ball that got hit in the air at the devils lake tourney was leaving the ball park.  and for frantz that was real cool what he said while shakin hands with grafton.  shows how much class harvey has if u can't already tell from the way they carry themselves on the field.

Strikeouts are boring - besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls. More democratic.

he ran into our 3rd baseman when the game was over and made a racial remark to him afterwards

Casselton is 7th in their section???  Wow, they looked pretty good last weekend. The other teams in the Enderlin tourney were West Fargo and LaMoure (Both were sitting at the top of their  respective section standings) Enderlin, Kindred, Lisbon, Galchutt and Oakes

I don't think most people understand how good baseball is in that region.  Every high school season, there are at least three teams in that region that could compete at the state tournament - this year it was Thompson, Hatton-Northwood, and CV.  When the summer season starts, the league takes all of those teams from the spring and adds Hope and Casselton (and the Fargo Bombers who are usually decent).   It probably isn't a stretch to say that the best baseball region in the state (top to bottom) is located in that area.
