i do think harvey has a shot against grafton because they have an easier frist round game than grafton, so grafton will use their ace and harvey will use krahler most likely, so then lorenz will throw against grafton

Lorenz vs A.K would be a pitching matchup made for the state tourney.

I  think Grafton will beat Ryan if Kliniske throws that game.

I still can't pick a Thompson vs. Steele game, so here's both versions smooshed together.
1 Ryan (Thompson)
2 Steele (Ryan)
3 Thompson (Steele)
4 Harvey
5 Grafton
6 Munich
7 Velva
8 FSHP

If he can pitch 11 innings in a region tourney with, presumably, no ill effects why can't he do it at state?  According to the paper he had a 2-hit, 10K shutout in one championship game.  Not bad for only 75 percent.

If Steele sits their ace in the first round & Thompson uses theirs, a semifinal could be Steele ace vs. Thompson #2. Though, I expect most aces to pitch the quarters for Friday rest and FSHP is no pushover.

Does anyone know if either Kjehmus has been able to pitch lately?  If not, is Cooley their ace or Syrstad?

This is from a week ago, Grand Forks Herald.

[quote]Tyler Kjemhus, a pitching regular for each of the past two state tournament-qualifying teams, has pitched only one game this season due to a shoulder injury. But Tommies coach Ryam Brantl said Kjemhus may be ready to return to the mound.

they did the same thing last year throwing hiens the first game and saving Bakkum for 2nd round.  since midkota threw Grover 1st round is was Steele #1 vs Midkota #2, so it wouldnt suprise me to see Lang throw against FSHP

Here's all I've ever seen about Munich.

[quote]After winning its first two Region 5 games by 1 run, Munich-Starkweather-Cando won all of its final 6 region games by margins of 4 or more runs.

Munich-S-C won the region title with an 8-0 mark and takes a 10-6 overall mark into the region tournament.

The team has 4 players with 10 or more stolen bases in Travis Beck (10), Riley Beck (10), Mark Henke (11) and Trevor Schommer (12). Blake Klein (.528, 23 RBIs) paces the offense.

“Our hitting isn't spectacular,â€

steele i doubt was pitching any of their good players, and steele isint anything like they were last year from what ive heard, but their a solid team nevertheless so it should be a good tournament for bakkum and his team
