Region 3

Postby baseball1981 » Sat Apr 07, 2007 11:56 pm

Anyone think this region might have the best teams- Midkota, Lakota, Harvey, Dakota Prairie- all solid teams. I think this region could very well be the hardest region in the state.

i think its region 2 with cv-h, hatton-nw, thompson, minto, is a much better and tougher region, and the best in the state.

I agree.  Any of those four teams could make a run at the state title if they get hot.  Region 2 is the toughest in the state almost every year.

Lakotas beat Harvey and DP already

Lakota was for some reason ranked 4th in their region

how can anybody think region 4 is not the best? theyve had a team in the championship game every year for like the past 13 years or something
Strikeouts are boring - besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls. More democratic.

excellent point, just because a team was good in past years, dosent mean they will be good this year or years to come

i believe the rankings were 1. Harvey 2. Lakota 3. Midkota 4. Dp 5. Carrington 6. SNR 7. Kensal... and anyways i wouldnt worry too much about the regular season, regular season is just gettin ur team better for the regional tournaments, and thats where lakota has had some trouble in the past couple years

lakota struggles in the big games in the post season like you said, the games where midkota and dakota prairie are very good in, harvey is a team that usually struggles in the tournament too, but with the leadership they have, id think they wouldnt fold like they did last year, that was bad...

exactly, and in hs baseball anything can happen, so any prediction as of now is kind of useless...

i guess lorenz threw 3 innings today against carrington, 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 bb, 7 or 8 ks, 34 pitches, not too bad,

he was throwing hard and most of the carrington batters were afraid of it i think.  they needed a few more at bats each to get used to that much speed.  all he threw was his fast ball today and never really got to show what he can really do
you shouldnt throw stones if you live in a glass house and if you got a glass jaw you should watch your mouth

Region 4 has never been as deep as Region 2 and isn't this year either.  Cavalier had an amazing run of athletes in those title years (look at what they did in football), and I won't discount their accomplishments.  That Grafton team lost by 20 or 21 runs to a Region 2 team (Thompson) in 2005, and last year Thompson got caught by an amazing pitching performance in the first round but only gave up 1 hit the rest of the tournament.
