Prediction for seeding:

1. Park River
2. Thompson
3. Carrington
4. Velva
5. Beulah/Shiloh (I think Beulah will win tomorrow)
6. DLB
7. Enderlin
8. Rugby

The B tournament is always a fun, competitive one. I think my 1-3 seeds are locked in any of those 3 spots. Seeds 4-5 could go to any of Velva/DLB/Beulah/Shiloh and I don't think Enderlin or Rugby will get seeded. Whatever team gets the 1 I think will have a pretty easy time getting to the championship. I've seen Koronka from DLB pitch (Williston commit). He is good and could give one of those teams some trouble, but I don't think DLB can swing it with any of those top 3. When 2 and 3 meet up in the semis we're in for a nail biter. Should be a fun tournament, especially after some upsets in the region tournaments!

Good luck to all teams headed to Jamestown!

1. Park River - Split with #2 but had a better strength of schedule than #2
2. Thompson
3. Velva - Lost to #6 but beat a highly ranked Ryan team 3 times
4. Des Lacs - Weaker schedule than #3
5. Shiloh/Beulah - I think Beulah wins
6. Carrington - too many losses against ranked teams
7. Rugby - weak schedule, but they played 1 ranked team
8. Enderlin - weak schedule, didn't play any ranked teams

Carrington will be a seed. Mark it down.

Agreed.
Carrington beat Velva. DLB beat Carrington. DLB and Velva have split a couple games I believe. That's why I think those 3 could be any of the 3-5 seeds. I think Carrington returning to the state tournament and their dominance in their region will play a factor. Carrington also beat Minot Ryan 11-1 while DLB lost to them and Velva didn't beat them until the region tourney. I really think those top 3 (Park River, Thompson and Carrington) are far superior to the rest of the field. But anything can happen in high school baseball!

I'll take a "crack" at this:

1. Park River
2. Thompson
3. Carrington
4. Beulah
5. DLB/or Velva

I think the only "constant" here is 1. Park River and 2. Thompson. 3,4 and 5 are a toss up.

Stating some obvious stuff here, but it's tough to say X team is better than Y team because they beat them 1 time. Baseball is very matchup dependent and the variance between who wins and loses is high. It wouldn't be shocking if the worst team in MLB beat won a 3 game series vs the best team. The more games you play the less variance and the more likely best team ends up on top.

Yep...That's why seeding this one is tough. I think we have two dominant teams and a few others that will compete depending upon match ups. Case and point: IN the SAME day Carrington lost to DLB and 10 Runned Minot Ryan. Minot Ryan beat DLB.

#1 thompson
#2 Park River
#3 Carrington
#4 Velva
#5 Beulah
#6 Des Lacs
#7 Rugby
#8 Enderlin

Just taking a stab at it... only know that PR and Thompson are the 1 and 2 they could easily be flip floped. I got to see the PR vs Thompson game and think Park River has a better team but 3 losses puts them at #2 in the seeding.

I do believe Velva beat Ryan during the year in a non region game( not a second game) they played three times>

I wouldn't disagree if both teams played the exact same schedule. I want to believe that PRFL beating Langdon 4 out 5 gives them the upper hand. Langdon also had an easy win against Carrington.

Logic and common sense, although rare in today’s world, is refreshing to read in this forum.

Don’t think there’s a ton of difference in 3 through 8 with any one of them capable of beating 1 or 2 on a given day.

Have to flip flop these opponents that are underlined...I don't think that can happen with the bracket we have.

That team beat this team. This team beat that team. Region game, non region game. All that matters is which team is currently playing the best baseball. Good Luck to all eight teams at state!

Questions:

1. Does anybody know how many kids from Maple Valley are playing on Enderlin/Maple Valley team?
2. Do they play games out of Enderlin or does one of Buffalo/Tower City/Oriska/Fingal still have a field?
