State B Babe Ruth tournament starts Friday, August 3rd in Casselton. Tournament will run through August 7th.

First round pairings are

Game 1: Kindred vs. Carrington at 10:00
Game 2: Grafton vs. Beulah at 12:30
Game 3: Hatton vs. Oakes at 3:00
Game 4: Velva vs. Casselton at 6:00

Opening ceremony will be held at 5:30 between games 3 and 4.

Who did Kindred beat to get in the tourney. I thought Cassleton beat them to go to state.

Casselton is the host, there is only seven districts. so Kindred goes as the distrist rep.

Kindred beat Casselton in the Region championship.

Casselton had beat Kindred in the league tournament to get to the District 7 tournament as the top seed form their league. Kindred also went as the leagues other representative. Kindred then won the District tournament.

Velva and Casselton played a half inning before being postponed until tomorrow morning.

Because of the postponed game Casselton and Velva will start up again in the bottom half of the first inning at 9:00 tomorrow.
The rest of tomorrow will be approximately an hour late.
Carrington will face Beulah at about 11:00
Hatton will face Velva/Casselton loser at about 1:00
Kindred will face Grafton at about 3:00
Oakes will face Velva/Casselton winner at about 5:30

Casselton over Velva 4-3. Carrington was up 3-0 on Beulah in the 4th at last check.

Casselton beat Velva 4-3 in the game postponed from the night before.

Winner will take on Kindred in the next loser out game at 3:30

Championship game
Oakes will play winner of the Carrington/Grafton vs. Kindred game at 1:00
Second championship game will be played at 3:30 if Oakes loses.

Grafton sent Carrington home today with a 10-0 victory. They followed that up by sending Kindred home. Grafton won that game 5-1.
Grafton will face Oakes tomorrow at 1:00 for the state title. If Grafton beats Oakes in game 1 they will play another game at 3:30 to decide the state champion. If Oakes wins they are the state champs.

Grafton defeated Oakes 8 to 1 to force a second championship game. We are currently in the third inning here in Casselton. Grafton is ahead 3 to 0.

After 5 innings grafton ahead 5 to 0. Oakes coach Dobitz has been tossed by home plate ump.

State Runner-ups in High School season; State titles Legion season & Babe Ruth...quite an incredible past year in Grafton (goes along with a great football season, GBB State Title and a state participating BBB team).

Grafton also won the state championship in Pee Wee baseball this summer as well.

Grafton has had a HUGE run in baseball, and hearing that they won the pee wee thing ( I'm thinking this is pretty young age) probably explains why they've had this run. Startem young, coach them up, and have great coaching at the upper levels. It's a formula for success. I'm from VC, and a group of guys started a program 2 years ago for 8,9 year olds and that has been a huge success. They traveled to play in a Fargo league and were like 14-3. I just hope that they keep it going, I know we are going to be good in baseball again here very soon, we have good legion coaching it's just that there's no coaching before babe Ruth through the Parks and Recs.

A few years ago, I think Minot won state titles in Baberuth, Junior Legion, and American Legion, all in the same year. I'm not 100% on the Junior legion team, but I'm pretty sure on the other two.

That's right. They won 15 year old babe ruth, junior legion and legion. This was in 2010.

that would have been class A correct? Has it happened in class B?

Oakes had a heck of a year. They played a lot of good teams. They had a bad day. I would watch out for them in legion ball when they come back together as a team. Grafton better watch out!
