I'd have to say whoever comes out of Region 1 will walk through the state easily.

I wouldn't say that they would walk through state easily but yes they would be the favorites.

Velva and Beulah should be pretty good. Returning some talent from last year's teams.

Bottineau had a good chance they bring back everyone except there CF. They have alot of seniors on there team to that have played in State Tourney before and got runner up in State legion last year

Bottineau does look good but then again Casselton has won the last two legion championships also returning many key players. i would look for a strong performance from Casselton, Bottineau, and Kindred, who return a core group of seniors.

Washburn-Wilton-Center-Stanton should do well. They lost 2 seniors that contributed, and have a very experienced group of seniors back that took third in legion last summer. Evan Eberle returns as an all-state player and Kirk Sailer and Brett Shreiner will also lead the way. Some good role players return and they should make a run a region championship.

I say they do win Region championship. I dont think anyone can compete with them. I think Shiloh is down this year. Eberle, Sailer, and Schriener are 3 very good players along with other role players too.

Everyone said they would walk through the region last year as well...

I think Washburn is the favorite but saying no one can compete them is a little far-fetched. Hettinger (Laufer) and Shiloh (Kurle) both have quality pitchers back. I think Central Prairie will be ok too (think it was Heinrich that was pretty good last year). Don't know much about Standing Rock and Steele though.

I guess I didn't know that everyone thought WWCS would win last year. They came close, but a clutch hit by a kid that hadn't hit all tourney put Hettinger in State. So, Schwab, do you think Hettinger is gonna make it again this year? How's their pitching?

I'll say it will be between those two teams in my opinion. Pitching will be pretty solid, and even if WWCS would have won the first game they still would have had to come back and win another one.

They got some athletes. Plus there successful Babe Ruth program has to begin to show! I understand their district/region has traditionally underperformed at the state level though.

Isn't Kindred and Casselton in the same division? Velva lost Jon Mack they will miss him alot.

If do believe that Beulah only lost one player from last year and were the number two seed in the region.
