Fargo South sweeps Fargo Shanley 4-3, 12-0

Also: Fargo South splits with Sioux Falls O'Gorman 8-1, 0-1; Fargo South sweeps Sioux Falls Washington 7-3, 5-4.
Fargo North loses to Pipestone (MN) 5-15 and Sioux Falls O' Gorman 0-8; Fargo North loses twice to Sioux Falls Roosevelt 4-7, 6-9.

Thursday: Bismarck Century sweeps Bismarck St. Mary's 6-3, 7-1.
Bismarck defeats Mandan 14-3.

Mandan splits with Minot 5-2 (9); 0-2.

Thursday, April 21st, 2011:

Moorhead (MN) defeats Fargo Davies 4-0
Tyson Schoenborn threw a no-hitter for the Spuds (1-1) in five innings, striking out nine.

Fargo South sweeps Valley City 16-0, 17-1.
Hochstatter and Ernst combined for a no-hitter in game 1.
Fargo South moves to 9-1 (4-0 EDC)

Due to the pod-system newly adopted both games for WF vs. GFRR are conference..... Pods are:

Pod 1: WF, North, Valley City
Pod 2: South, Davies, Shanley, Wahpeton
Pod 3: GFRR, GFC, Devils Lake

You play 1 conference, 1 non vs. your pod....2 conf. vs. others

GF Red River defeats Bemidji (MN) 8-2.

Fargo North sweeps Devils Lake 11-2; 12-5.

Saints split with Minot 5-1 and 0-3
Jordan Kenner 2 hitter and 12 k's second game was a JV kid
Alex Shafer threw 1st game for Minot and some JV kid 2nd game

BTW EDC teams are lucky----most WDA teams have played a max of 6 games, 3 doubleheaders---Williston hasn't played any. They're doing WDA seeding by win percentage

Ernst threw the 2nd game? Did they both count?

Ok, then that makes sense.

Davies swept Shanley. 10 runned them in the conference game.

Some of us predicted Davies would be better than the pre season polling suggested but after sweeping Shanley the question needs to be asked is Davies that good or is Shanley that BAD?

Shanley's starters were younger pitchers that don't usually start...I think Shanley may have overlooked Davies. Say Shanley starts their normal starters...I think the outcome is much different.

Didn't Hallock pitch the conference game for Shanley? Who threw for Davies?

Casey Quinlan threw for Davies. He had a great game. Shanley still had the same lineup and proved he can be a solid pitcher for them this season

Correct Quinlan pitched 4 very good innings, good command and only issue is he tends to walk some batters, and Horner did a good job closing the game in 5th inning facing the heart of batting order. Davies catcher needs to be able to start blocking Quinlan's breaking pitches, as that can cost you in a closer game.

St. Marys swept Mandan 5-2 and 7-2
CHS vs. Williston canceled
CHS, Dickinson, St. Marys all have one conference loss each
CHS and Dickinson are 4-1 conference and SM 3-1 conference
Next week will show some big matchups. SM plays CHS and DIckinson
