I agree Stolz is a good infielder and if he gets his pitching up he will be a solid player for the Braves this coming spring

I think maybe Fiske will play SS at North, and Davies with no varsity experience does not have any player with the experience of others mentioned on this page for SS, the infield will be a work in progress for several players rotating through SS for Davies. Will probably be Rasmus or Smith.

Saw Game # 1 , for Davies vs WF last nite. Smith struggled with 3 errors at SS along with Rasmus at 3B had 3 errors also. Both will need to play alot better and did not look to good at plate either. Davies will need alot stronger defense at SS ,3B, and catcher. Davies will need strong defense to beat the better teams period, as these players develop and get used to hitting at the varsity level.

for Davies pitching,
Game # 1 - Beach looked good on the mound in game # 1, and Horner pitched well in 3 innings of relief,

Game # 2 - Smith pitched well in game # 2 and curve ball was working good, but Jordahl and Siewert were not sharp last nite.

Smith has played just bad so far, looks extremely overwhelmed at the plate and on defense ( i did not think he would get overwhelmed in the field). Could be a long season if he doesnt figure it out.

Dahl threw the first game and completely dominated. I had him at 13 K's. Second game Mapes and Steckler threw, they got hit more than Dahl but still threw well. Smith matched them and it was tied 2-2 going into the 6th before Davies' defense broke down and lost 10-5. Smith seems more like a pitching threat than anything else.. Horner pitched well, Beach didn't do too bad either.

The paper said Davies had 10 errors between the two games. Even outfielders were mis-judging flyballs and letting them roll by. But that is all of their first year at the varsity level, but they have to figure it out or they are going to have a long year.

6 errors in the books. but in the first 4 innings of game one there must have been a minimum of 8 errors. davies looked beat after the 4 errors in the first inning

Smith is a pitching threat, hitting threat, baserunning threat, fielding threat, and any other threat you can think of. He's a pure bread chubert. Of the five tools in baseball, he's got 6. He's a man among boys. He and 17 out 19 players on Davies are jocks....nuff said

Andy Young from West Fargo has been threat with the bat and with his glove making plays. Eric Soberg from Fargo South has been very well also.

Andy Young (WF) and Brady Horner (South) (3 yr varsity starter) are both very skilled fielders that both show skills at SS and at the plate batting about .420 in EDC conf games. Soberg has improved his hitting (.400)and has played well at 2B for south this season giving them a solid middle infield every game.
