Yes indeed...very nice to see the young team get a some early success. I just checked the Davies website and I see only one freshman on the roster.

If quinlan is not on the mound for davies they are a average team as you have seen in them losing to norths 3 and 4 starters. They are currently 5th in the EDC but i see them finishing 7th when its all done, they dont have the depth to handle consecutive conference games and win.

but look at the defense. way too many errors and mental mistakes. 2 hits for north in game 1 should not = 3 runs. period.

Line score in forum shows North with 5 errors in game 1 and 6 hits, Davies had 8 hits in game # 1, and 3 errors, but you have to also add the past balls by catcher, and davies unable to handle the bunts very well from catcher or 3B in both games that loaded bases in both games. Only 2hits for Davies in game # 2, so that was also an issue. This team will need to start to lock in on a starting lineup to develop chemistry going forward.

I have heard that Hans is starting to move some JV kids up and some Varsity guys down. Hopefully he can figure out a lineup quick because davies has some extremely important games coming up.

Few changes in Davies Lineup is they put Meers at 3B, Rasmus at SS, Smith is now at second base. Birmingham moved up to varsity for more pitching depth.Trying to put more bats in lineup. Smith so far is the best hitter in this lineup and others have been getting some hits but not very consistant in hitting the good varsity pitchers that have velocity and change speeds well.

Davies nocks off WF in the first round of the EDC 6-3. Hans Anderson deserves strong consideration for EDC coach of the year.

this is true....however his mere presence in the dugout altered the final say in the intense WF vs. Davies matchup....no one knows what makes the burly lefthander so intimidating....it may be his great bench press form or how he hunts down wild animals and strangles them with his bare hands....its hard to say

Who are the stronger players that will be juniors in 2012?
They would be sophomores now.

There are about 4 stronger players that all played JV as freshman this past spring for Davies. Casey Quinlan is a good Lefty pitcher, Ryan Smith (middle infield/pitch), Andrew Beyer (Outfield and good speed), and Brock Horner can play middle infield/outfield, pitch and has speed. These 4 also can hit. There are also contributers in Peterson, Barta, Meers, and Schneider also. This group should be decent when Juniors, and pretty strong when seniors.

Barta wasnt even on the varsity roster, and Schneider has less then 10 at bats.

Quinlan, Beyer and Smith are the only one's I saw who made any impact last year.

Seven of the nine starters at the edc and state tournaments were sophmores last year. Quinlan, Beyer, and Smith weren't the only once who made an impact last year.

I was just going off of the list that was given, their junior class was certainly better than the senior class
