Frenzel is a freshman...

Wentz is a sophomore...

I think Elgie is the best sophomore in the state, undoubtedly.

He had a .510 avg, 59 RBIs as a freshman, plus he was 5-0 on the mound with a 1.33 ERA. He had a lot of good hitters and players around him, but that's pretty impressive.

agreed, elgie is amazing, best all around sophomore too, maybe best all around athlete period, he led the state in homeruns last year i think.

Elgie isn't just the best sophomore in the state.  He is one of the best players in the state.

Yeah but he's also 17, so if I were you, I'd be classifying him in the junior category.

What is your source of that information? I'm pretty sure he's not 17.

and also he is i believe 3.5 to a 4.0 student, i know he is on high honors every quarter, so why would he be held back, again if you don't know don't make it up. Also , frenzel could be a sophomore, not that he was held back for any reason but alot of kids with his birthday are sophomore, elgie couldn't be a jr if he wanted to with an October birthday

I think there is alot of confusion with kids like Elgie and Frenzel.  Didn't Elgie play up with the 12 YOs when he was 11, with the 14 YO when he was 13, with the 15 YO when he was 14, and then up with the Vistas last year when he was 15?  I think Frenzel has that strange birthday where actually plays up with the kids in the grade above him.  I've never heard anything about those two ever being held back in school. I may be wrong.

He is older then most of the kids in his grade.  But I thought he played up with the kids an age older then him because he had a summer birthday?  Or am I wrong?  Did he play up cuz of his age or just because of his talent?

I've played against Elgie the past 4 years and he has been moved up with year ahead just because he was so good.  Also I know Bohan and Solemsaas are two of the youngest seniors out there.

I believe that the sophomore class in the WDA has got to be one of the strongest classes i have seen in a long time.  There is a lot of talent that age from all schools.  However, I think Elgie sticks out from all of them by a longshot.  It's amazing to think that a sophomore from ND makes the pre-season 2nd team all american, that is talent.  I couldnt believe how hard he hit the ball last year, he hit it harder than any one I had seen.....and he was only a freshman.

just because he is a 3.5 to 4.0 student dosent mean that his parents didnt feel the need to hold him back k-6th grade they do it for all sorts of reasons its not because the kid is dumb its just teacher/parenal prefrence maybe they didnt feel he was social enough or to little or maybe even too young its not because he is dense

Saucesauer, i was just replying to what 4for4 had said about him being held back, like he knew it , and he of course didnt know it, he said it like he knew it and that to me is an attempt to bring someone down, what would it matter if they had. And once again to repeat he wasnt held back anyways.
