Elgie (3-4) hit another bomb in the bottom of the 9th, but Minot strands two in the bottom of the 9th to end a rally and lose to EP 5-3.

Great effort by Minot and it is unfortunate that they came up short.  Eden Prairie (like Cretin Durham Hall in St. Paul) is pretty well known outside of MN when it comes to High School (and Legion in this instance) sports and Minot gave them everything they wanted and more the way it sounds. It sounds like Minot couldn't get that big hit (with the exception of the Elgie HR's) to pull them ahead.

I look for Minot to make their way back through the losers bracket and possibly meet Eden Prairie again.

Central Plains moving to Dome
The Central Plains American Legion Tournament scheduled to be held at Legion Field in Marshall is moving to the Metrodome in Minneapolis due to inclement whether, according to tournament organizer Bob Gjorvad.

The first pitch is at 10 p.m. Sunday, Gjorvad said.

The teams will play five games, seven innings each, with a possible sixth game. The games will end Monday at 12 p.m.

The first game will be the end of Saturday’s suspended game between Iowa and North Dakota that ended in the eighth inning due to rain.
