Minot plays Omaha Post 1 who is 42-15.

The other teams are Eden Prairie, MN, Dubque Co., Ia, Marshall, MN, Sioux Falls West, and Plover, Wis.

Anybody know anything about these other teams?  I know when Sioux Falls is on they're really good, they beat Rapid City in the championship so they must be good.

Anybody think Minot can win it?

The Minot Vistas played Omaha Creighton Prep on June 15th and lost 10-2.

The game was played in Omaha, Nebraska.

I don't think they have the pitching depth, but i hope they represent ND well. Good luck Vistas!

Last year I think they lost 3-1 to Lawrence, Kan. (who won the whole thing), and 2-1 to Creighton...

Creighton will be very tough, and I think so will Eden Prairie... Also the team from Sioux Falls will be good... Anyone who can beat out RC Post 22 is a darn good team...

The only good thing for Minot is that even if they lose to Creighton, they have a bye into Saturday since the Kan. champ dropped (Eden Prairie has a first-round bye)...

I disagree with shs01240. I think pitching depth is their biggest strength... Say they get win one of their first two games throwing Martinson and Huettl and are playing on Sunday... They will have Gathman, Bollinger, Sundheim, Kallias and Lopez to eat up innings... That's pretty good for the fourth day of a tourney.

Yeah i could be wrong. I know their staff is deep North Dakota wise, but when we were in Omaha, the best teams in that tournament had 3-4 guys that were absolutely lights out. I'm not sure Minot has that luxury. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

Yeah, a few of those teams probably go 3-4 deep with stud pitchers, but Minot has three kids that will be pitching in college next year (Huettl, Gathman, Martinson) and Bollinger will certainly be a strong college prospect in a few years. Part of why I said that is because they will have a bye if they lose, so Sat. they will be putting their No. 2 starter against someone else's No. 3 and so on as the tourney continues.

Last year they proved their pitching could hold up... I believe Martinson gave up one earned over 8 innings and Lundy gave up two... I think their biggest problem will be scoring runs against other teams' top pitchers.

I think Minot will be right in the middle... I put Omaha and Eden Praire near the top, Minot and Sioux Falls in the middle and the other three (Iowa, Wisconsin B and Marshall) at the bottom... If the Vistas get a few breaks they could challenge those top two teams.

Minot plays Eden Prairie tomorrow so I am guessing they're going to face EP's ace.

Man being originally from the Minot area, but now living next door to Eden Prairie, who does a guy root for?  ND roots vs. current dwelling?

you can move from where you are and have no more connection to the place but you never lose connection with your hometown and roots
