Why would somebody want to go to a 4-year D1 school unless they are absolute studs? The best scholarships anybody could get around here is a 30% from D1 schools.  All these JUCOs have so much money to hand out that those same players that would get a 30% scholarship can now get full rides for two years and be able to play right away.  Then go to a 4-year 'big time program' and get a 40-55% scholarship plus saving all that money one would spend at a D1 school.

Well stated. The 4 year school baseball programs around here including NDSU and UND are not funded well enough to offer much money for scholarships. UND and NDSU were the bottom 2 every year as far as scholarships in the NCC but yet managed to every year be among the top programs. Both UND and NDSU have around 5 scholarships for 32 players compared to the 9 allowed in DII ad 11.7 in DI. The JUCO programs in Iowa have much more then that to offer money wise as do teams in the Northern Sun like Southwest State MN, Winona St MN, and Wayne St NE. Which is really a joke when you think about how UND and NDSU administration and boosters pride themselves on looking down on other programs because they have SO much more money.

The baseball programs at d-1 schools give out less scholarships so it is harder to earn a scholarship for baseball at the d-1 level than it is for football or bball.  That's why you dont see that many baseball players from here going to a d-1 school.

me neither, Frenzel is the only notable player from Dickinson that i've heard of.
I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?

Ollila is an okay player, not a bad hitter.  but if it's true I have no idea why Iowa Western would want him

He was their ace this summer when schreoder went down with the ankle injury .  If this is true they must have seen something they liked. I remember he threw a couple really good games this summer but he had a fair share of terrible ones.
