I don't think you have to enter into the MLB draft.

im sure you have to make a phone call or something to tell them if you want to get drafted or not.  cuz if you know your done after college a team doesnt have to waste a pick on them

I think a team would have some kind of contact with a player before they draft him.
I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?

No, you don't entere the MLB Draft, and you don't have to make any calls.  You can just opt to go back to school or whatever if you do get drafted.

I went to college with a guy who was drafted twice during college (Yanks & Reds) but went back to college both times.  He never entered the draft....in fact, he was pretty suprised when he was drafted by the Reds (especially since he was a catcher, and they drafted him as a pitcher despite having only pitched something like 12 innings in his entire life)

You can get drafted more than 2 times, i believe Horst was drafted 3 times, not sure about that, but i believe out of high school , once from jr college and then this yr

i coudl be wrong...thats just what i was told last year.  if you get drafted out of high school and go D-1 you ahve to wait for your Jr. year or you can go JUCO and get drafted after 2 years.....im probably wrong tho sorry

This was the fourth time Horst was drafted. Once out of HS, twice at Iowa Western and now at Armstrong Atlantic. The regional Pirates scout was in love with the kid and got hom drafted three times. The Reds took him this year. May have been the same scout swithing organizations.

As far as the draft you dont declare or do anything. You just get drafted. There are 50 rounds. Just because you get drafted doesnt mean they want to sign you right away either. They may draft and follow a player through the summer in a late round and see if they handle wood bats well or other things like that. If you go to a 4 year school you have to wait until after your third year of school (Junior if you play as a true freshman, sophmore if you redshirt). If you go to a JUCO you can be drafted after your freshman and sophomore years.
