Dont count out Fargo North, Fargo South or Wahpeton. Edc is going to be very close again lots of teams will be very competitive this year again as last year. Red River is a favorite again but the last two years have found a way to lose the big game when it matters the most.

How is Red river the top team? Davies is by far the favorite. Red River's heart and soul graduated in Taylor Steen.

Red River didnt lose anyone besides Mitchell Anderson and Taylor Steen. They have a great senior class coming up with experience.

Davies senior class is by far better than red river's. They won't lose a game with quinlan on the mound and gunnar linsteadt proved himself this past summer as a very good pitcher and they still have peterson. Smith will be one of the top hitters in the state, better than any hitter on red river. No doubt red river will be good but i think Davies has to be the clear favorite before the season starts.

And I'm not disagreeing on Davies senior class, who will be very good. But don't doubt Red River just because of the loss of one player. And also another top team in the edc should be Shanley, who will compete.

Minot High has just recieved a pitcher from Florida. Demitry Zafra 16 years 2014 6'1ft 190Ibs. Low 3/4 arm slot. Hit 89 during pitching session up in Minot, fastball moves like a lefty's. Major league circle change, he is able to break it down to the left or right of the plate Mixed in with a slurve and newly developed splitter. Was verbally commited to Virgina but uncommitted upon arrival to North Dakota. Kids the real deal.
The magicians have a goood chance at states witht this accusation.

I can verify that this is true. I've heard all of these things about him. Certainly a big addition for them.

one pitcher does not make a team. is there somebody to catch him? are there capable fielders behind him? will they score runs for him?

the have a new catcher from San Antonio, Texas. Kid rips it. Throws out kids from his knees on a line. They have a catcher. Field is solid. Hitting is okay.

Last year at the WDA in Williston the temp was 40* and the wind blew 25-35 mph. These new players that Minot have from Florida and Texas gonna be ok with that?

I dont know but they did handle 100* temp with 100 humidity everyday day. Stamina is acctaully going to be boosted to them and Zafra has tons of experince in type of weather from traveling around the country.

Nope. I'm sure they won't play spring ball and just wait for summer. Probably take a 3 month cruise or something so they won't maybe see a little cold. Or maybe they'll drink hot chocolate by a fire for 3 months. Baseball is definitely out of the question though.

Obviously. Point is, just cause they're cold, they're still good players. Do you think no ND kids get cold?

If a mlb player grew up in the south, that doesn't mean he wouldn't be good in Boston or New York.

You play as good when its 50* as when its 100*? Your arm get as loose and stay as loose? Hands sting about the same regardless of temp? You seen these two "good" players or just "heard" about them? Hot chocolate by a fire was hilarious though!

I haven't seen either play. This is actually the first time I've heard of the catcher. My point is, ND kids get cold too. They aren't as loose at 50 degrees either. Nobody likes the cold when you're playing baseball.

agree....this was better than the cruise and hot chocolate post. My point is people hear things that don't always have facts to back them. When the season is over we'll know if these two were the real deal.
