How would this work as far as conferences? Would someone have to move up in their place?

that wouldn't work tho becuase devils lake would be an east team... i think if st marys would move down either belcourt or schanley would also move down and then noone would come in

I've heard from the great vine that Belcourt is going to move down next year no matter what and that their playing New Town's current schedual but Belcourt won't be eligable for the playoffs. I guess New Town is going to play an independant schedual.

The current proposed plan that I saw ( I think in the Bismarck Tribune) would reduce AAA to 12 teams. Wahpeton, Belcourt, Shanley and St Mary's would be in AA. But they do have the ability to say they want to stay AAA, so we have to wait to see how that works out.

once again how would that work cause there would be 7 west teams and 5 east teams???

I found the article, which was in the Jan 29 Bismarck Tribune. Here are the schools divided solely by male enrollment (which will answer the Wahpeton question). Schools still have the opportunity to petition to move up, so this is not final until that happens.

AAA
Fargo South 1037
Minot 1031
West Fargo 994
Bismarck 865
Century 797
GR Red River 600
Mandan 591
GF Central 583
Fargo North 615
Jamestown 432
Dickinson 426
Williston 400

AA
Devils Lake 311
Wahpeton 206
Fargo Shanley 205
Valley City 194
Turtle Mountain 164
Central Cass 163
Grafton 153
Carrington 143
St Mary's 143
Beulah 139
Fargo Oak Grove/Park Christian 133
Bottineau 126
Minot Ryan/Sawyer 121
Kindred 114
Lisbon 112
Standing Rock 111
(note that this class is very East-heavy)

The top class A teams include
Watford City 110
Rugby 109
Trinity/New England 108
New Town/Mandaree 108
Hazen 103
May-Port-CG 101

Based on past history, I assume schools like Shanley, St Mary's and Trinity will want to move up one class. I would think Watford City, Hazen, and Rugby would want to stay at AA as well.

Are those numbers 10-12 or do they include grade 9 (since some High Schools do not include grade 9)

I am guessing they do not include grade 9.

According to the article, those are numbers for grades 9-12.

And they would be male enrollment numbers so that's why they may seem low. But I thought they always used 7-12 male enrollment for classification.
