W#2 Minot (9-1) @ E#1 Fargo South (7-3) - 7:00pm at FargoDome If Minot can play 4 qtrs. of defense like the 3 qtrs. they played against the Demons a couple of weeks ago, they can win this game. If they do not, South will run all over them. I think they can...Minot in a close game.

W#3 Century (7-2) @ W#1 Bismarck (10-0) - 6:00pm at Community Bowl As a team you want to play as injury free as possible in the playoffs. BHS is missing an all-state lineman and CHS is missing their QB for this game. CHS is going to miss their QB more than BHS will miss their lineman. I don't think this will even be close. It wasn't close during the regular season and without Feeney CHS chances will take a nosedive in this game. Demons big.

FYI- Game time has been changed to 6pm for BHS and CHS game.

I've heard a lot about Souths' RB, but do they have a QB, or can Minot just concentrate on the run?

Also, If FS doesn't have that great of defense, Bolinski could carve them up (especially since the game is indoors).

Zach Kellen is a capable QB for Fargo South...is he one of the top in the State? Probably not, but he can throw the ball down the field and is accurate

Go Maji....Zach K is a very capable qb. One that can hurt you. Like I said, if the Magicions can play the same spirited defense they did against the Demons for four qtrs., they can win this game. James J for South is the real deal...big, strong, fast, and can "see" the field very well. Minot has the talent to win this game....it is another issue if they have the will to win this game. Good luck to Minot!!!

At what temp do they keep the Fargo Dome? Is it a factor after playing outside in 40 degree temps and than having to come indoors to play there?

Yeah, it is a question. Apparently not a question for you to answer though.
It will matter if its 60-65 or 70 degrees in there. The cooler the better.
Any constructive answers here?.

Although I am somewhat confused by your question, I was told a few years ago at a Bison game that the Fargodome likes to keep the temp about 68 degrees. However, I am not sure what factor that has to do with the game. The factor that will be a big deal is that the game will be out of elements. No wind, rain, possible snow, or cold that is being mentioned for this weekend. Being in a climate control dome I believe will favor Minot as they have a slightly better passing game than South. If this game had been played outside I might be more inclined to favor the Bruins with their bigger line and stud running back. I am still predicting a Minot victory, albeit...a close one.

Thanks Truth.
My concern was not being acclimated to warm temps which can result in leg cramps and wearing down from heat. I had heard from others in the past that some kids cramp up in the calves when playing in much warmer weather/temps than they are acclimated to, (ie, the dome in November). Just curious as to how warm it was in there. Look forward to this game. Plan to be there

Now I understand your original question Frenzi. As a coach myself, I wouldn't be concerned on wearing down from the heat, but cramps to players is most definitely a possibility. I know the BHS coaches stress drinking lots of water the day before and the day of the game as well as throwing down a few Gatorades to help your body be fully charged with electrolytes.

Glad to hear you are planning on watching this game. I usually watch all four games in person each year, but am boycotting them this year. I have an issue with NDHSAA forcing coaches to "cut" their rosters to no more than 60 players. BHS had to tell 20+ that they were not part of the sideline team anymore this year. Doesn't matter to NDHSAA that these 20+ kids went to the same camps, practiced in the same heat, same cold, ran the same sprints, and put forth the same team effort as the 60 that get to dress. Not very team supportive by the NDHSAA. So I am boycotting in my own small way and not giving the NDHSAA any of my money this year. It's not going to make a difference to most anyone else or the NDHSAA, but some of the kids know I am not going and why. This football fan will be watching the games on TV this year.

Big time hydration with water and Gatorade sounds like the ticket to avoiding cramp issues. I don't understand the limit on players for playoffs. If it was fair in the regular season why is it not deemed fair for playoffs?

Minot beat themselves in this game. You can't beat anyone with 4 turnovers.

and tons of penalties

Minot also lost a stud LB in the first half to an ACL tear. Too many flags on the turf. Some questionable calls and non calls last night. Cant beat FS with such a big number of penalties, but the turnovers killed it too. FS#33 RB is all that. He's the real deal. Great job by him.
