That Minot game was the oddest game I've ever seen. Three words: injuries(mostly cramps), penalties, and turnovers. Fargo North had -15 yards of total offense in the first half. 3 of Minot's touchdowns came via 2 pick 6's, and 1 PR TD. North's 2 Touchdowns came right after an interception and a botched punt. Minot's Benjiman ran 60 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, but it was called back because of holding. In this game we've seen something unseen before, Yanosko passing. he was 7-16 in the first half. I know thats not very good but he will just get better as the season progresses. Most of his recievers were wide open too. Yanosko also threw an interception in the endzone which could have made the lead bigger.
Minot's defense was supposed to be a question mark this season. I think they've proven that they can ball.

BHS defense looked awfully good for the first game of the year. Stanley Jones was fun to watch that night.
Johs was great as usual.
Defense held WF to about 25 negative total yards for the game until the BHS Sophs came in, however the coach let the sophmores play it out and they didn't let WF score, WF ended up with about 40 Total yards for the game. D. Ends Tharalson and Schulz (Sophs) played good with both getting good tackles including a sack and a tackles for loss for schulz and a 1/2 sack for Tharalson and tackles for loss. Dubord, Seibel, Keller all looked pretty good against WF Varsity. Not sure what that says more about, BHS Sophmores or WF Varsity.

If you're going to make conclusions after one game wouldn't you have to conclude that their offense is pretty bad?

I think when all you have is one game and the Team does well why wouldn't you give them (Defense) some credit.
Try being a little positive, the players might just react positively, and that would be great for all of us, Go Minot Defense!

I'm just pointing out you can't have it both ways. If you're going to say Minot defense is the GOAT after one game you can't give the offense a pass after a bad game.
A better post would have been, "Minot's defense was supposed to be a question mark this season, but they definitely played well tonight."

Minot lost their entire line and had three sophmores in their seconary. They still held North to -15 yards in the first half. oh and they pretty much shut down all-state rb Saintal in the second half. So I was praising them for how well they played for such a young defense.
I wasn't giving the offence a pass either. I know they played bad. I couldn't write a post about how bad they were. Especially when they won. So I wrote about what got them the win. DEFENSE.

Here's my reply of the Minot - FN game. Sloppy,sloppy, sloppy... Both sides, penalties, penalties, and did I mention pentalties.
If there was 3 plays in a row without a penalty it was a miracle. FN, if you are relying on Peter S. you better look for a different savior. He quick but that's about it. Minot shut him down except for 2 plays. Minot, receivers hit in the hands with the ball and dropped it. They are afraid of getting hit. Secondary, to short and a good team will throw over the top of them. Linebackers and d-line solid. Offense, line needs a lot of help, they gave the backs alot of look out blocks. Not real impressed with either team for the first game. I pray each one will tight up real quick.

players were getting hurt left and right, minots running back(s) looked good, and I thought backers and dline did outstanding but considering north looked a little unexperienced up front, offensive line was brutal that was one of the longest games I've ever watched. wasn't really impressed with passing
