Could be an away sweep in Region 5;
Divide County @ Surrey, Home field for Surrey could make this one closer than it should be. DC will have to keep their heads in the game and work for this one (Don't stop at the mall on the way to the game!).
MLS Mohall/Sherwood @ Kenmare/Bowbells, Can't see K/B putting up much of a fight.
Parshall/White Shield @ Trenton/Trinity Christian, Could be close, but I'll throw P/WS a bone.
It may not be the end of the world, but you can see it from here!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say South Border beats Shiloh.

I will take Wyndmere-Lidgerwood over Ulen-Hitterdahl by about 50-60 points. U-H just won their first game in 2 seasons over a very poor Tri-County (northern MN rural area). W-L is just WAY better than U-H. I think that it will be a moral victory if U-H can score and also keep the game within 30 points.

I'm surprised to see everyone picking Sargent Central over Central Valley. Haven't seen either team play, but I've heard CV should be a playoff team in their region and SC should bring up the rear in their region.

Not sure why, but the first 3 times I read this, I thought you were all talking about "W-L vs CV", and I was thinking "Good lord, I though W-L was for real!"

But apparently I cannot read...luckily I'm a Math Major...

Edgeley-Kulm @ Kidder County - might be closer than some expect, KC is overrated IMO
Ellendale @ Hankinson - I think it should be relatively close
Strasburg/Zeeland @ Napoleon/G-S - shouldn't be close
South Border @ Shiloh Christian - see above
Ulen-Hitterdal (MN) @ Wyndmere-Lidgerwood - after being the 2nd best team in the state in '06, UH has been pretty bad, I'll assume they're still bad
Central Valley @ Sargent Central - shouldn't be close
Norman County West (MN) @ Hillsboro
Richland @ Finley-Sharon/Hope Page

Divide County 20 Surrey 18
A lot closer than everyone thought it would be. Surrey had a lead with 4 and 1/2 mins left in the game. Couldn't hold Divide from scoring another touchdown.

I knew this one would be close. Surey's big group of freshmen and sophmores from a couple years back are now juniors and seniors. Having the TD called back could have been devastating. DC showed a lot of heart in responding by marching down the field when they needed to. They're not necessarily going to walk over anyone this year, but will be a better team for it. Way to go Maroons!

Wells County 76- Dunseith- 0

Starters played the 1st quarter and half of the second quarter
keys to coaching
1) Surround yorself with people who can't live without football
2) Recognize winners. They come in all forms
3) Have a plan for everything

"Don't give up at halftime. COncentrate on winning the second half"

"When you can't score from the 1, you don't deserve to win"

South Border wins on a sloppy field(old hughes field). I recall shiloh getting past the 50 yard line once. I do know, Shiloh fans brought a lot of cowbells, which I thought were not allowed under NDHSAA rules. I'm surprised in their 4th year of football, that they still are playing at the level they are. You would think there are many athletes who do not make it for bismarck or century that would decide to play for them. But I guess if they were going to decide to do that, they would have to as an 8th grader so they would be eligible to play...transferring in as a 9th grader would mean you would have to wait until a junior to play in varsity. Not sure if kids know yet as 8th or 9th graders if they got what it takes to make it for bismarck or century or st. mary's.

next week south border plays wydmere/lidgerwood..which I believe will be the game to watch. both teams have gotten state votes.
