2008 Region 1 Playoff Teams

I'll take a try at figuring out the 9-man playoff picture. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.


Region 1 Playoff Teams

1. Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter (6-0 region) - Already # 1. LOCK. Even with a Napoleon-G-S loss next week and an Oakes win, Napoleon-G-S holds the tiebreaker over Oakes (a 26-20 win at Oakes on September 12th.)

2. Oakes (5-1 region) - The Tornadoes are the number 2 seed with a win at Edgeley-Kulm next week. BUT ... An Oakes loss and a Ellendale (4-2 region) win at Sargent Central would give both teams (5-2) region records and Ellendale has holds the tie breaker (a head-to-head win vs. Oakes 68-14, on September 5th). Ellendale would then be the 2 seed and Oakes drops to the 3 seed.

3. See Above. Ellendale or Oakes.

4. Kidder County (3-3) with a win at home vs. South Border next week. If Kidder County loses ... three other 2-4 teams enter the playoff picture ... South Border, Strasburg-Zeeland, and Edgeley-Kulm. Stasburg-Zeeland plays Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter next week at home and Edgeley-Kulm plays at home against Oakes. Strasburg-Zeeland and Edgeley-Kulm are bigger underdogs in there games than South Border is versus Kidder County ... a South Border win over Kidder County gives them both 3-4 region records and South Border would hold the head-to-head tie-breaker. South Border would then be the 4 seed, IF the higher seeded Oakes and Napoleon-Gackle-Steeter teams win their games.

According to your post earlier in the season Oakes beat Ellendale 68-14. So it would seem the top 3 spots are locked.
