Four very interesting scores from the eastern side of the state. Northern Cass is the team we thought they would be with a very strong showing against Midway Minto. Lakota does appear to be the class of the north with their win.
Most impressive was Richland's huge score and win over Sargent Central. That is 2 big wins for this team which puts the rest of the region on notice. Oakes was a tough team tonight against Wyndmere and I was impressed with the team speed Oakes has. Watch out for Oakes as they gain team experience and confidence.
Richardton Taylor looks like the real deal out west and all the chatter early on must be for real.

The region is Hillsboro's to win.

Wow - I just saw the box score from the Hillsboro/ Cental Valley game.
That makes 2 games in a row that Hillsboro has blown out teams in 1-2 quarters. The Grothmanns and Meyer combo look unstoppable. As I said before, if they get a pass game going, they will be impossible to defend.

Guess what - Hillsboro IS throwing the ball, just no touchdowns from it.

How did Oakes beat W-L? Is Oakes that good, or was W-L off? Is Oakes seriously going to challenge Napoleon?

Any answers?

Oakes has been picked to win that region in two of four polls I have seen. They are the real deal with Hagen running the ball. It will take a great team to beat them this year.

You schedule 2 tough games to start the season, it can bite you in the behind. The tough games can help you find out what you need to work on. I fully expect E-K to challenge for the Region 1 title.

the hillsboror richland game was boring until the fourth quarter. Richland impressed me with their ability to pass the ball effectively. Great game for the colts.

any news on the Richardton/McLean game????

Hillsboro threw some, didn't complete many. Couple drops, and an INT.
