Not many teams out there that kick field goals that I know of in 9-man. Just thought I would see what people thought.

As for my pick, I think Kurt Friesz, the Slovakian exchange student from Divide County deserves the top spot. He hasn't had a chance much in games, but last week he drilled a 39-yard field goal with ease.

Not only that, in a junior varsity game towards the start of the year he was only a yard shy of a 50+ yard field goal (Divide County people help me out with the actual yardage).

Matt Schmidt is another exchange student kicker. He's a German at Hillsboro.

I might be wrong but if I remember right I saw in the paper that Tanner Carpenter had a couple of field goals from 40+.

I agree with Kurt Friesz from DC the kid is very impressive..he missed i  think a 53 yard field goal by about a yard...the kid has a boot. He has only been kicking for about 6 or 7 weeks...so there's a lot more room for improvement.

North Dakota.  He's not an exchange student.

Do either of the foreign exchange students use a special square toe kicking shoe like Carpenter does? I know I have seen some foreign exchange kickers use soccer shoes...  I know Carpenter uses a square toe or some other type of kicking shoe.

He's pretty good. He kicks extra points and has the ability to kick field goals. The Burros have only tried one this year, which he made.

I talked with a buddy of his, and he said he kicked a 39 yd field goal in the playoff game against richerdton taylor, and missed a 53 by one yard in the jv game. And that he clames that he kicked a 56-58 yard one in practice while the coach was watching.

I agree about Friesz. He didn't allow the Cougars to return much if any during the quarter finals. it sure would have been nice to have better field position a few times. I wish them well. What a great experience for him to play American Football and be so successful.
