ho do u think the poll affects teams and how they play, and the teams that are playing against them?

It shouldn't, It's nice for the players, parents and fans but it really is meaningless as far as preparation and will to succeed by the coahces and players. There are plenty of teams who where ranked #1 all season and won it all it really does not matter.

There are plenty other things that distract players performance much worse than a poll.

such as breaking training rules

lack of rest

poor diet

too much pop

girls

home life

etc.. you get the picture.
