Playoff Scenarios

Well it’s hard to believe there’s only two weeks left in the regular season and we’re talking about playoffs already! But here are my predictions. The west is more cut and dried with what I think their is only two superior teams. WNG and south border will more than likely be in the semifinal game. The only upset I can see is a Grant County or new Salem upsetting WNG. WNG played in by far the weakest region in the state and it’s hard to judge. Just how good they really are.
The east on the other hand is a whole other animal, which I believe seven of the top 10 teams in the state come out of the east. Sargeant county and an NRSM have already wrapped up number one seeds. The number two seeds are probably going to be North Prairie and Lamoure. I’m predicting a quarter final game in which NRSM will host North Prairie, and a rematch game from earlier in the year in which they won in overtime. North, Prairie)’s quarterback was hurt in the first quarter in the game and their back up quarterback was already out so they had to insert a running back as quarterback and figure it out on the fly. I think they figured some things out since that game and they will prevail in the rematch and play Sergeant County in the semifinal game.

I believe North Prairie will be in Sargent County's bracket if they are the #2 seed out of their region. Lamoure will be in NRSM's bracket for the quarterfinals.

Yes this could be the way the bracket is constructed. Not exactly sure how that is determined with no first round byes for # 1 seeds.

Does anyone have the playoff bracket breakdown? There is one on NDHSAA but it doesn't show seeding etc. Just wondering if anyone knows. I thought I had seen it on here at one point but can not find it. TIA

Hankinson Clinches #4 Seed with a Win over Griggs/Midkota OR a Maple River Loss to Sargent County
Maple River must beat Sargent County and Hankinson must lose to Griggs/Midkota to claim #4 Seed

REGION 2
1 - New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock
2 - North Prairie
3 - North Star

Nelson County clinches #4 Seed with a Win over Midway-Minto OR a Four Winds Loss to North Prairie
Four Winds must defeat North Prairie AND M-M must defeat Nelson County for FW to claim #4 Seed

REGION 3
1 - Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn
2 - Alexander

Central McLean clinches #3 Seed with a Win over TGU (M-L-S claims #4 Seed then)
Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood Clinches #3 Seed with a Win over W-N-G AND a Central McLean loss to TGU

REGION 4
1 - South Border

MOST LIKELY SCENARIO - GCF wins, Linton wins, HC wins, NS-A wins
#2 Seed: GCF (7-2); #3 Seed: HC (6-3) via 2-0 record vs. Linton & NS-A; #4 Seed: Linton (6-3) via H2H over NS-A

Other much less likely scenarios are in play

To make the playoffs for New Salem-Almont: HC or Linton losing opens the door for them to sneak in as the #4 Seed

For this setup to work you are saying MLS is beating WNG and CM is losing to TGU to gain the 3-seed and CM gets the 4 seed?

Both teams are 6-2 in the standings and CM has tiebreaker over MLS if they both were to win or lose

Whoops, I had them backwards. Should have had CM the #3 and MLS #4. Just an error, not a bold prediction of a huge upset.
