How was it decided that Cavalier got the 1 seed over LaMoure. I know they were tied in last weeks poll. Did they use QRF?

I think for playoff seeding its Region QRF if I'm not mistaken, Lamoure does have the better QRF as of the 12th

Cavalier also played two more games after the 12th which would have boosted their QRF.

From what I understand, the coaches of the four teams who won region championships all voted on the seeding. They could not vote for their own team. They also do this for seeding for state volleyball, basketball, wrestling duals, etc...

The coaches voting makes sense, thanks for clarifying.

I guess ndhsaa allows every division to do it different if they agree, I was under the impression football did away with the voting when QRF came into play.

It was probably a decision for just this year. With all the different games missed throughout the season, I don't think QRF was an accurate measure this year.

QRF is garbage(secrets are lies) in my humble opinion but on to the predictions
G1: R1#4 Tri-State (5-3) @ R2#1 (2) Cavalier (9-0)
Cavalier 52-6 Easy Bracket 2nd round game will be toughest
G2: R2#3 North Prairie (7-2) @ R1#2 (5) May-Port-CG (6-1)
MPCG 50-22 Too much offense

G3: R4#4 Beach (5-2) @ R3#1 Divide County (5-1)
Beach 20-14 Slugfest that could go either way
G4: R3#3 Ray/Powers Lake (5-1) @ R4#2 (3) Kidder County (6-1)
RPL 36-22 Lots of weapons and KC ended the season vulnerable

G5: R2#4 St. John (6-3) @ R1#1 (1) LaMoure-LM (8-0)
Lamoure 54-28 Great offense and St. Johns stumbled late
G6: R1#3 (RV) Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (7-2) @ R2#2 (RV) North Border (7-1)
Wl-30-26 Great coaching figures it out

G7: R3#4 TGU (4-4) @ R4#1 (4) Grant County/Flasher (7-1)
GCF 52-14 GCF is rolling
G8: R4#3 (RV) Linton-HMB (5-2) @ R3#2 Surrey (7-1)
LHMB 36-12 LHMB top players are too much.

Well I got lucky and picked all the games right last week, so I'll give it a shot again this week.

G1: R1#4 Tri-State (5-3) @ R2#1 (2) Cavalier (9-0)
G2: R2#3 North Prairie (7-2) @ R1#2 (5) May-Port-CG (6-1)

G3: R4#4 Beach (5-2) @ R3#1 Divide County (5-1) * I predict a very close contest.
G4: R3#3 Ray/Powers Lake (5-1) @ R4#2 (3) Kidder County (6-1)

G5: R2#4 St. John (6-3) @ R1#1 (1) LaMoure-LM (8-0)
G6: R1#3 (RV) Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (7-2) @ R2#2 (RV) North Border (7-1) * This one's gonna be a great game.

G7: R3#4 TGU (4-4) @ R4#1 (4) Grant County/Flasher (7-1)
G8: R4#3 (RV) Linton-HMB (5-2) @ R3#2 Surrey (7-1)

LaMoure-LM wins via forfeit, not sure of the reasoning.

It’s the only major reason why a team would forfeit a postseason game this year. St. John has COVID cases and can’t continue. You knew this would occur at some point.

I assumed that was the reasoning but didn't want to speculate. Yep this probably won't be the first game to get canceled.

Region 2 goes 3-0 today. MayPort vs NP is only close game.
Region 4 goes 4-0 today. All 4 games are within 20 points or less.

NDHSAA website has TGU over GC-Flasher. That’d make Region 4 3-1, not?

Realize when he posted the statement...original post came before games started so Woodchuck was close on his predictions.

Saturday, October 31st
QF1: R1#2 (5) May-Port-CG (7-1) @ R2#1 (2) Cavalier (10-0)
QF2: R4#4 Beach (6-2) @ R4#2 (3) Kidder County (7-1)
QF3: R2#2 (RV) North Border (8-1) @ R1#1 (1) LaMoure-LM (8-0)
QF4: R3#4 TGU (5-4) @ R4#3 (RV) Linton-HMB (6-2)

May-Port vs. Cavalier is the most interesting matchup to me. Cavalier has walked through the season, there closest game was 20 points last week against Tri-State. May-Port can put up points in bunches though so might be able to go score for score with Cavalier. I'm not sure I even know how to pick this game my head says Cavalier wins but my heart says May-Port finds a way and makes the last big play to upset. In big time close games the team with the best player is a safe pick and I'm not sure that MayPort's QB isn't one of the best at any level in the state. Should be a fun one!

I don't believe Mpcg has enough defense to win in Cavalier but am in agreement that Satrom is an excellent player. Think Tornadoes line will be the difference in this one, but it will be exciting

Was more surprised that Beach shut out DC than I was that TGU beat GCF.

QF1: R1#2 (5) May-Port-CG (7-1) @ R2#1 (2) Cavalier (10-0) A high scoring game, but Cavalier will make 1-2 big defensive stops.

QF2: R4#4 Beach (6-2) @ R4#2 (3) Kidder County (7-1) KC in a very close game.
QF3: R2#2 (RV) North Border (8-1) @ R1#1 (1) LaMoure-LM (8-0) Lamoure 52-14
QF4: R3#4 TGU (5-4) @ R4#3 (RV) Linton-HMB (6-2) Linton 28-22.
