Matchups I'm keeping an eye on this week:

MayPort @ Hankinson - MayPort is averaging 46 ppg over the past two games. QB is putting up yards and tds in bunches. They need to tighten up on D (giving up 37 ppg) in order to really compete with the top teams in the state but I think this is a get right game where MayPort figures some of that out and firmly steps into the "one of the best teams in the state" conversation.

New Rockford @ St. John - both teams have yet to lose, both teams are in the hunt to win the region, and both teams would set themselves up to be in control of where they finish with a win. Should be a good game, one of the more intriguing matchups in the state this week.

Linton @ Kidder County - another huge matchup early in the season. Number 3 in the state traveling to Number 1 in a region game (winner should go on to win the region). Should be a fun one!

Watched the KC - LHMB game on BEK last night. That was one of the best 9 man games I have seen in a long time. Two evenly matched teams that played hard on every down. Saw some good things from both teams on both sides of the ball. Some big hits by both teams and some very athletic kids on both teams. If these two meet again I would not know who to pick. Hopefully they will meet again in the playoffs.
