Regions 1 & 2 are controlling the top 5 spots. And regions 3 & 4 are receiving votes hopefully these two regions can makeup some ground. Would be pretty bad if the east dominates the five spots. I know theirs a lot of season left though but just saying.

Who cares it’s just a poll from Sportscasters who some have no clue about half of the teams in 9man

It's just a talking point...and a label. ONLY ranking that matters is who is #1 come mid-November.

Maybe the east is stronger than the west...we never truly know.

I feel like Lamoure is way to high, they beat an Enderlin team that is 0-2 and a richland team that had 10 healthy players by the end of the game and they only started with 13.

Pigskin had Richland high, voters put them #3 and they rolled them...that's why they got the ranking they did. I, too, agree they are a bit high and that a few of the west teams deserve more consideration; but the season is still young and this Friday will be a new week with some big matchups to help or 'thicken the mud' of the polls.

How do you feel about tri-state? They have been rolling and from what I have heard they have a good combination of size and speed on both offense and defense.

still an unknown to me but I'd figure they'd like the move to ND 9-man and made it more enjoyable with Thompson and Oakes moving up.

I did pick Tri-State to win region 1, but May-Port looks like the team to beat. Lamoure is an OK team. Richland will be lucky to win a game this year. Richland will not have a team next year.

These polls mean nothing. In fact I would contend it is better to be left off or "be disrespected" because they only thing they are useful for is bulletin board material. Being able to tell high school kids look at who they are putting ahead of you as a little extra motivation is the only useful purpose. I'm not even sure it is useful for that anymore because I don't think all kids are motivated by things like that. Moral of the story: this poll means nothing, who cares.

Can someone fill me in on why Richland is struggling with numbers right now?

I was wondering the same thing. They have had a pretty successful program going the passed few years with their state title back in 2015, you would think they would be getting pretty good numbers consistently.

They are a small school that is getting smaller...lost a few students/families in recent years. These smaller schools go through waves...Richland will grow again and numbers will flourish in sports

Did all bball athletes go out for fball this year or did they lose some numbers there? I'm assuming they are the favorites in their region for bball again this season.

all but one, Reiland kid broke his foot, out pretty much for season in football, 4 concussions, (supposedly), that concussion protocol is a joke IMO. Kids can run around practice all they want but can'y play. richland has pretty good numbers in the younger classes, but not very much next three four years.

going off of last year, this would have been my top 4 in the first poll, not necessarily in this exact order...
I knew May-port would be tough, they didn't lose much and when they lost in the playoffs the after game speech (I'm sure of) was enough to carry thru the off season into the new... :)

Pay attention the Linton HMB Very balanced with size, speed and and an accurate QB. Very impressive win against Kidder County

Ya, Linton did a bit of a shake up at coaching and it looks like it’s paying off. I’ve always said coaching is huge in 9- man. Well any sport really. You still need the athletes, which Linton always seems to have but you need a good coach to push you in the right direction.

Linton has one losing season since 1975, that was in 1998 and they still made the playoffs. They've only missed the playoffs 4 times since 1979. They are the definition of consistency.

Predicting that FSHP will be in the top 5 after this week. I believe they're the top team in Region 1, and they have possibly the top player in all of Region 1 in the Ihry kid. FSHP is a very strong overall team this year.

I don't disagree that FSHP is a solid team but I think MPCG is as well. I see this as a game either could win that will have huge implications later in the season. This is my game of the week at any level. I'm excited to see the outcome good luck to both teams.

Not sure if it’s bigger than BSM/HCV in AA or Thompson/Oakes in A but it is definitely a big game...this likely determines your 1/2 seeds for R1 (I foresee LLM as #3)
