Who are some of the top players in each region? I don't know much about players from the West so wondering who the top performers are.

Kyler Melby of Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke-Central has 1836 total yards on the season through 6 games. He has 17 passing TDs and 8 rushing TDs.

I would say the top three players out of Region 1 are Quin Alo from LLM, Kendrick Lenzen from Hankinson, and Jake Ihland from Richland.

I agree with your 3 from region 1. I wish that Lenzen carried the ball for Hankinson. He was an incredible runners before high school. He is a very good lineman, but wow, I think he'd be special as a running back.

I would also throw in Travor Flaa as well as Brady Heyen from Richland. Lots of talent on that team this year.

I think you have to include Hankinson's Cody Mauch and Lamoure's Brady Warcken as some of the top players in Region 1. Mauch's size is tough to stop and his hands are some of the best I have seen in recent years from a TE/SE. Warcken is a very quick and shift running back. It's tough to stop him in the open field.

What are Ihland's rushing yards?? I seen an article in the Fargo Forum yesterday about the Warcken kid having over 1200 rushing yards. Melby kid has some impressive statistics too. And I would have to agree that the Mauch kid needs to be in this discussion too. Since Thompson is #1 in the polls who are their top guns?

Region 1:

Richland - Both Flaa & Ihland are very tough.

W/L - Wisnewski and Adolfo Vasquez are solid FB players that deserve consideration.

Hankinson - Cody Mauch is a great 2 way player who can hit and has great hands. Still have another year to go with him...But hands down the best defensive player I've seen in Region 1 this year is Kendrick Lenzen. The kid can hit & he has a mean streak.
