Got to realize who did the pummeling

But North Star started getting votes when they scored on Cavalier...

Yeah, I understand who beat up HN, but still, you lose by that much and some folks still think they are worthy of the top 5? *heavy sigh*....is Cavalier that great that they would beat every team in the state by that much? If so, why the heck didn't they opt up to A during this past cycle and play 11-man? They've always wanted to play at a higher level than their size - witness their success in AA when they were an A-sized school. It's just out of character for Cavalier to have such a juggernaut and not opt up with it.

backing up Run's point, but Cavalier is probably 35+ points better than everyone in the state.

Shiloh might be able to hang with them...but I don't know if they have enough to stop them on defense.

Question: Has Cavalier ever been held to a 3-and-out or 4-and-out this year that the clock wasn't a part of (end of half or game)? Just curious...

I've been thinking the same thing over these past couple of years. It can't be much fun for starters to sit on the bench for a good part of every game because they have such a huge lead. I would think they would be the state-favorite even if they were playing 11-man.

There starters don't sit on the bench. From what I have
Been told they play there starts for the majority of the game, defensively anyways.

The kids didn't work hard all offseason to play 2 quarters a week. There is a point where you have to take them out to avoid running up the score but they should at least get to play defensive for 3 quarters IMO.

In week 1, Cavalier beat Kindred by 20 points. That is Kindred's 2nd smallest margin of defeat (1-5). I'm not saying that Cavalier couldn't compete in AA, but they probably wouldn't win anything. :|

Are they going to have some leaner years coming up or does it look like they'll compete for state titles the next 4-5 years? Also, maybe with so many new teams moving into 9 man they'll see some more competition. I can't remember all the teams moving down, but just having Linton back in 9 man makes the whole season more interesting IMO.

I have no problem with the kids playing the entire game, especially on defense. I believe it is just part of the football culture they gave in cavalier. I would guess every team wants to have that. I was just trying to point out that the starters do play longer than a half.

Okay...so the 4th and 5th poll ...Cavalier got all of the first place votes.

Now...the 6th poll, the guy from Bismarck votes for Shiloh. LOL.

So...uhh...lets just say...that these polls meant something (they don't), and the voters had to explain why they voted a certain way.

What would this ding dong say?

"Uhhh...I saw some weakness exhibited by Cavalier....."

???

Who to say Cava lier is better then Shiloh? What examples are there of like opponents, etc. Shiloh's defensive starters have given up less points then Cavaliers starters. If they do match up, then it will be accurate. Like you said polls are of little meaning, but as dominating as Shiloh gas been, can't say many people would be shocked that they receivery a first place vote or two. So to answer your question, it has nothing to do with weakness of Cavilier, but play of Shiloh that got them the vote.

To change it...was silly. And it looks silly when the guy from that town changes his vote.

Are you just assuming that the Bismarck voter made that pick...it could be a media member from another area...any proof?

I don't have a link. I know the Shiloh starters have only given up 12 points and I know Cavalier gave up 19 to NS. I really don't know much about Cavalier except they score a ton and Hava great defense. They deserve there #1 ranking.

I agree with run completely. Also by using your same logic, in the first poll Shiloh had 2 first place votes and didn't do anything to lose them. So.... What happened there?
The point is, the polls mean nothing and are meant to be a way to reconize who on average people think is the best teams. All the teams that are ranked and still reserving votes are good teams. Hopefully the playoffs sort out who is better than who.

Shiloh Christian..Most over-rated team in the state. Not trying to bash them. But they better hope for a championship this season (or at least a Bowl appearance). As soon as they move back to playing teams in the East next year, I don't see them winning many games.
