Jimmies are getting rustled with these comments.

I like Cavalier too. Hard to see a team that didn't completely dominate the west will beat a team that has blown out every team this year. Upsets do happen, but I don't see it happening.

I have refrained all week without putting in my 2 cents and that is about all its worth. I am very new to watching 9 man football if this was a Class A 11-man match up I would put my money on the western most team because the west has dominated this division (enough said on Cav-Velva ). But 9-man is very different in the fact that the dominate team does not always win against a formidable foe where as in 11-man they usually do. With that being said I would say that just looking at the numbers Cavalier is the dominate team and WNG is the formidable foe as they were against GC, TGU and Shiloh who were all the dominate ones. 11-man to 9-man big difference it has taken WGN all year to figure out their identity and they found it as of late. Last year I made the statement that it is not about winning every game its about playing good competition and getting better each week. WGN did this last year playing teams like Stanley as a non-conference game. They have done it again this year in beating teams like St. Johns #4 ranked team at the time, TGU #2, SC #3, GC #5 and losses to TGU and Divide County has helped WNG develop into a formidable 9-man team. If they continue to execute their style of play I believe the formidable foe will take down one last dominate team on their way to championship season.

So for a score i will take WGN 42-36 and once again the state 9-man championship will be a shoot-out and a lot of fun to watch.

Good luck to both teams and for the boys playing the game have fun and enjoy the show.

R2#1 Cavalier (10-0) vs. R3#3 Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn (10-2) @ 9:10am - FargoDome

I think this game is a shootout early but Cavalier pulls away by and wins by 2 scores. Cavalier is very good on defense but Braaten will still be able to make a few big plays and keep the game interesting.

Everyone is picking the underdog and personally I believe that you are wrong. Cavalier seems like they are on a mission this year and I dont think anyone can stop them.

East will dominate again as they have for the last many years. 9 man is down across the state but Cavalier is excellent team and this one will be a rout. 50-12

Cavaliers defense had to put up with napoleons Trent Fettig last week and he was a majority of napoleons offense this season and they held him in check for most of the game I think that braaten guy is like Fettig and I believe cavalier may use that same approach to slow him down.

Looks like those "people" are right.

It's early....Cavalier only leads by 16. There's plenty of time left for...........Cavalier to keep jacking the score up. lol.

Would you rather have Jamal Spencer? I like Sweeney, but I prefer Dan Hammer.

That is pathetic running up the score, would be different if it was your subs but still have starters in

Good thing Cavalier still has their starters in, looked like Westhope was mounting a come back.

Running up the score???

This is the state Championship. The two BEST teams in the state.

There shouldn't be whining about the score in the title game.

So good sportsmanship only matters in the regular season, good to know.

WNG's starters were in...so no problem with Cavalier keeping their starter's in. Cavalier was running the ball...its not like they were passing the ball.

Yeah....you're supposed to let the other team score on your 3rd string, so they have something to feel good about. That's what good sportsmanship is.

The state championship game and people still whine about running up the score. I don't think it would of mattered what string was on the field, Cavalier was by far the better team.

So, always going to have haters. Thats the way it goes. Cavalier was the most dominant team in 9-man football all year! Oh region 2 was was really weak this year!? Well I guess the teams from all the other regions were no better than the teams in region 2! Scoring was the same as it was in the regular season. Some are.giving their respect to the champions, some will never understand. That will never change. Running up the score? Its the championship game, seniors deserve to play. Starters deserved to play all game for both sides. Last game of some careers, time to shine for others. When they only play half a game each week, should they not be rewarded by playing a full game for the championship? By not playing a whole game all season costs the best player in the state (chrest) the senior athlete award. Just think about things like that before you shoot off about running up the score. Chrest showed today for all to see, that he indeed was the best senior athlete this year! Congrats to the Tornadoes! Players are a class act! Congrats to Mr.Laxdal on the coach of the year! He and his staff took a great group of players and guided them to a championship, and for that they deserve the respect they have earned all year!

Cavalier by far was the best team in 9 man football this season. There talent level, size, and speed make them very difficult team to defend and score against. Also Cavaliers tradition and participation is at level that just breeds success. Cavaliers has participation by its kids that is envy of any 9 man and most class a 11 teams. They have more kids participating and putting in time probably more than any team in the region. This compliment to kids, coaching staff, and parents that are putting in the time to build a program like this.
I am not taking anything away from Cavaliers great season but I also think that both 9 man and 11 Man A are down from the past. The schools at least I know in the east are not size or have participation that football had back 5 to 10 years ago. Yes there are good programs but not the depth that there once was in region. Cavalier is a testament to this 10 years ago they were playing for double A championship and now because of enrollment they are down 9 man competition.
