I've only looked at scores, but NGS beats SZ at home by a TD and South Border beats SZ by 3 TDs on the road. I'm not so sure NGS should be ranked and if they're the #1 team in the state, like someone believes, 9 man football is way down this year.

Polls this early in the season go mostly by name recognition as its just too early to tell. There will be plenty of changes by about midseason.

Yes Flip, you are stating the obvious. We knew last fall that many 9 man teams would be losing numbers due to graduation. Most teams cant even field a JV team due to low numbers.

Grant County Flasher has put up some crazy numbers so far. I am very interested to see if they can throw the ball when the conditions aren't ideal. I was impressed when I watched them.

Should be interesting next week as most of the teams on the list play each other is week. Who on this list is most likely to be at the top of it come playoff time? I have only seen grant county play and they look like the real deal

Based on the posts in this forum Cavalier should have little problems going undefeated in the regular season so I don't see why they wouldn't be #1 the entire season.

I know the first week when there were Tuesday and Saturday games, some teams did not have a game one of those days so they have played one less game. But Cavalier's record shows that they have played two less games. Is that correct, and why?

Believe they had a bye week and one game was played as a JV game.

How long has it been that a Region 1 team has not even been mentioned in the polls. Should be some kind of motivator, even though polls are just for conversation.

I think its because across the board Region 1 is one of the closest Regions competition-wise. On any give week 1-5 could beat each other. There is no clear favorite. I think that's what makes this region exciting. These last couple of weeks are going to be exciting in Region 1! Anyways, who wants to continuely see 80-0 blowouts?!?!

#5 team got beat by 60 against #1. Either cavalier is on another planet or someone has a good record in a weak region. Where is Napoleon? Probably will win region title....

I'm not sure FSHP is the 5th best team in the state (I kind of doubt it actually), but I'd guess year in and year out the best team in the state is 30 points better than the 5th best team.

We all know these polls are just for the fans and don't mean anything. It is just a good way to get hype for games late in the year and in the playoffs.
