TL-M vs. DC

The teams in 9 Man

Postby UNDHeisman » Tue Oct 31, 2006 5:52 am

I have heard alot about the fullbacks from these squads and everyone knows that the power running game is how you win in any ND semifinal football game (due to the cold, wind, and poor footing on the fields). I don't know much about DC's bruiser but I have heard he is very big. Mitch Lang from TL-M is a 230 lb Junior with exceptional speed for his size and from what I understand has already drawn interest from highly touted college programs such as UND and NDSU. Who can tell me about DC's fullback? Any insight on what factors will determine the victor of this game?

Tri County and Richland played on a frozen field, with a fairly stiff breeze in below freezing temperatures last year in the semifinals and neither team had much success running the ball.  AND, last years other semi-finals if I remember correctly, didn't Divide County make a couple of big plays in their passing game.  I've seen some teams have awfully good games throwing the ball in inclement weather.  The defense is definately at a disadvantage in space, because of the poor footing.

ya i played with DC fullback last year(Placek) hes a big strong kid and can hit pretty hard hes about 215 i belive.  this game should be a very physical game with two very good lines and some good running backs.

From what I've heard it would be an advantage for DC if the game turned into a battle of the running games. Going through the archives of previous threads on DC there seems to be alot of fans indicating that DC has had poor secondary play this season. a 50-40 shootout against an average Berthold team that relies heavily on the pass is a prime example.

all i kno this will be a big game.  the X factors will be number #15 and #42 for the trojans they have been bruising opponents running backs the past 2 weekends.  one planted tyler gross on a crucial 4th and 1 and had the interception that sealed the victory for the trojans. and #42 had 20 tackles on the game and was a great lead blocker for mister everything Eddie Cullum. all of the trojans can hit but these kids are sick. there not right mentally. there bad lil men.

I agree that Nelson has played some good football the last couple of weeks. But to say he sealed the deal. The team still had to get two first downs to run the clock out. A quick three and out would have been a big turn for Mott-Regant. The offense sealed the deal after a great play by Nelson. I hope this isn't the player patting himself on the back. Instead he sould be preparing for the next game. There is no I in team and the win over Mott-Regant was a team effort. Don't get me wrong I think Nelson is a good player but TLM needs a good team effort to win. The last two games the whole team has been hitting very hard. The only X factor in this game is going to be who wants the win the most. It sould be a very good game!

This one definitely is going to come down to who wants it more.  For the past four years DC has gotten one game closer to the state championship, and was the runner up last year.  This is something they've been striving for for quite awhile.  TLM has proved to be a hard hitting, and intense team down the stretch.  I only wish I could be there, its gonna be a heck of a game.

There is only one "Mr. everything" and that is Kyle Carr

Hey footballplayer, you might be in love with Kyle Carr, but he graduated two years ago and nobody wants to hear you profess your love to him so you should probably try to let him go.  It's time to move on.

In response to Pfenix's remark about Divide County getting one step closer the last four years I have to correct you in saying that it's one more than that.  In 2001 they failed to make the playoffs for the only time in the last 11 years.  In 2002 they lost in the first round to New England.  In 2003 they lost to TGU in the second round.  In 2004 they lost to Edgeley-Kulm in the third round, the semifinals.  Last year, 2005, they lost to Richland in the fourth round, the championship game. You guys can see the pattern here.  We'll see if they can take it one step closer with a victory on Satuday over a tough TL/M team.

I know Placek will get hit, for every yard he gets after that 911.

last game i know eddie cullum had 37 carries for 283 yards. he's a stud. i think he'll run all over DC no problem cause he's just a stud like that!

Eddie Cullum is a great player and I'm not saying he won't have a great game, but keep in mind that in last week's game against Rolla-Rock Lake, Divide County only gave Mike McAtee 19 yards on 11 carries and no touchdowns. At the time McAtee was averaging over 170 yards per game and was the leading scorer in the state.  This game should be a great one with both teams battling until the end.  We'll see come Saturday.

Dosen't matter how big a stud Eddie is, you have to control the line to run the ball well.  This game will be won in the trenches, not by a back by himself.

hitem is right.  Last week M/R's D line got manhandled by TLM, thats why he racked up so many yards.  The first time they met he was held to 90.  TLM's O line just took charge the second time around.  I'd expect a much tougher go round this week.

I would like to D-C win this one.  I do believe they will because of all the experience, but you guys talk about yourselves to much id like to see how much you talk after D-C beats you.  Either way i think Napoleon is the best team in the state.
