I wish I had gotten the opportunity to see New Rockford play this year. I did get to see DC several times. They are big and physical and wear teams down. They hang around until a team gets tired and that is when they break the big runs. Just because they aren't flashy doesn't mean they don't get the job done. I, for one, am looking forward to watching these two teams battle it out. Good luck to both teams, everybody knows the road hasn't been easy for either team and they have both earned the right to play in the championship game.

"he said that he just decided he wasn't going to get tackled. Well, he didn't."

The only person that got tackled on that play was the NS defender--just as he was getting ready to tackle the runner. Check the hi-lite video at 5:26, #8 (Larson) gets taken down by an ankle tackle. And at 5:28 Grande gets pushed from behind as he's trying to make a tackle (you pretty much have to stop the video and go frame-by-frame). Not saying that they WOULD have made the tackle, but a flag could have easily been thrown for either situation. Game-changing non-call.

But I'm over it.

I watched your video and I did see those. Tough break, but things like that happen on nearly every big play by any team.

I also saw Jacobs bust through a few arm tackles too. I expect to see a lot of that on Friday.

Hey Webster 101, I guess I would rather have a TEAM playing for the state championship than a bunch of "all state players" sitting at home watching from the couch! Even if this game is a blowout like you say at least DC is there, better luck to your team or should I say all state players next year. It is a team game.

Could not have said it much better myself. DC is nothing but determined to win.
Gave up trying to make predictions, but DC will give it everything they've got.
Best of luck to both teams and have fun!

DC's coaches will have an excellent game plan. Nelson puts together some of the best plans ive seen. He is a very very smart coach. I'll take DC 28-22.

DC -2 Grind it out and an extra point is the difference. That's if Knudson is healthy. Know he left the game due to injury on Saturday but came back in to make a key defensive stop on a pass play. DC fans, is he good to go?

It will be interesting to see how this game comes out. Still think that LAE, Wyndmere, Cavalier or Lamoure win this game tomorrow if playing in it but we will find out tomorrow how strong the west is as this is the only measuring stick other than shrine game that East wins every year. Can't get down on DC as they can only play the teams that are on their schedule. West will have to win some title games or shrine games to get more respect. Good luck to both teams and we will see who has something to say by 3:00 tomorrow!!

A win for DC would help the respect for the west a little bit, but the east will always think that West teams have no business playing for a title in 9 man. The East has been very consistent in its Shrine and Dakota Bowl success and gets a little boost from having more schools that participate in wrestling (which usually correlates to strong and successful footballers, but not always). Simply put, the West would have to string together at least a championship or shrine bowl win in each of the next five or so years for many people to consider the balance of 9 man football power shifting west or even just evening out. Tomorrow could be that first step or it could perpetuate the winning mentality of the East. Only time and football will tell.

Best of luck to both teams and enjoy the chance to play in a championship game!

^^^^ Good points here. Who was the last West team to win it? Mott/Regent in 2007 i believe? That was an impressive team, one of the best games of football i've seen in a while.

Good luck to all of the teams playing today. I know this has been brought up before, but I think it needs to be said again - In my opinion, it is ridiculous to have teams playing for a state championship at 9:00 in the morning. This makes no sense to me, but then again I don't run the TV side of it. These kids are used to playing afternoon and evening games all season and then we make a change for the biggest game of their year? I know the kids will be pumped no matter what the time, etc.... I just think it would be better to play them in the afternoon or evenings. Just my 2 cents.

Hey guys....I'm currently stuck in Afghanistan with a bunch of boys from Divide County, I would much appreciate as much play by play of scoring so I can keep them informed on the game when we chat about it tomorrow. Appreciate it.

first maroon's possession inside their own ten yard line. Issac jacobs around the left end takes it all the way to the house. 2 pt conversion good. DC 8 - NR 0

I thought DC's line was suppose to be so impressive...not much there...
Like I said...NR-s would win and they did...was not impressed with dc play at all...had only a couple good plays and they were because of missed tackels or botched assignments...
took new rockford little while to get on track..and once they did..blow out...
