Just curious to see how people see the last few playoff spots shaking out with only a few weeks left. It looks like the fourth spot is gonna be up for grabs for a few teams.
IMO

1. North Star
2. TGU
3. Surrey
4. Drake-Anamoose
5. St. Johns
6. Benson County
7. MLS
8. Kenmare
9. Four Winds

1. North Star 8-0
2. TGU 7-1
3. St. John 5-3

4. Surrey 4-4
Drake-Anamoose 4-4
Benson County 4-4

7 MLS 1-7
Four Winds 1-7
Kenmare 1-7

the 4th spot could get interesting....

Northstar
TGU
Surrey
Tri Co.
SJ
BC
MLS
Kenmare
FW

BC has a road to climb to get to #4 as they will have to beat both TGU and Surrey to have a chance. If TC beats SJ I think that will secure the #4 for them and vice versa. I think Surrey and SJ still have to play but I see Surrey winning that one.

It should all come down to this weekend with BC vs Surrey and SJ vs TC.

Surrey has beat SJ and TC and BC has lost to both. If BC upsets Surrey this weekend there should be a lot of tie breakers coming into play. If Surrey wins, they would be the 3 seed and winner of SJ/TC would be the 4. Correct?

Basically comes down to St John vs Drake for the 4th spot, should be a very high scoring game. Benson county will likely lose their next two games.

North Star favored pretty heavily, take Grande off NS and it's a more even match up. Will be NS toughest test till atleast second round of playoffs.

Take Grande off and you still have 3 receivers at 6'5" 6'3" and 6'3". Granted they are no Grande, but they are good players in their own right and massively outsize TGU.
Then again, Grande will be playing, so that's one more.

I see TGU being geared to stop the pass again like they were last year and Braun runs all over them.
They'll run a different yet eerily similar D to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtbNg6e0 ... ure=relmfu

Well as a NorthStar fan, that was hard to watch last night. In my opinion their bad play was mostly due to the weather, braun only playing one quarter due to personal foul penalties also played a big part. However being a primarily passing team, the weather affected what they were trying to do and they were way out of sinc and couldn't complete anything and couldn't run because of TGU's good defense and Braun being out. The only game they lost last year was to Benson county the last game of the year, it was very cold and windy. The rest of the games even in the playoffs were all very nice with no wind, favoring their passing game. I think Northstar can beat anyone when the weather is nice, but can be beat by a lot of teams when it is not, with playoffs coming up, they need to learn how to play in a bad weather game if they want to make it very far this year.

I watched the game and in all honesty the game was as bad as the score was. Easily could have been a shutout. IIRC NS was never in the red zone. Obviously, it's a concern for NS if the weather is less than ideal, but just as big concern should be their defense. TGU ran all over them. Offensively, so much of NS's passing game was Hagler just throwing the ball up and hoping his receiver would go make a play. The weather I'm sure affected the accuracy of the passes and I thought TGU was in great position for most the night too. I thought TGU also got good pressure on Hagler, especially in the 2nd half.

The weather conditions certainly hampered North Star's passing attack, but to me, the big difference seemed to be the size of their linemen. They didn't send us height/weight with their roster, but from up in the press box, they all seemed at least half a head taller than our line, and just as big. Even if the weather had been perfect, that's still quite an obstacle to overcome. They completely shut down the run.

We ran in to the same situation in the 3 playoff games last year. When I was watching those western teams in warmups, I didn't think we were going to have a chance. Somehow we managed to make some big plays to overcome it. Last night, that didn't happen.

From what I could see of the game online, it seems to me that TGU came ready to play and North Star wasn't there from the first tick of the clock. Give credit where credit is due, TGU outplayed North Star and executed their game plan. I think North Star is perfectly capable of playing with TGU, but it wasn't going to happen last night as flat as they came out. Just because they were ranked #1 doesn't mean opponents are going to roll over for them. My guess is Haugen regroups his team and I pity Benson County if North Star comes out with a chip on their shoulder next week.

Sure seems like alot people are refering to NS as a "Fair Weather team"! To be a good team you have to be able to play in all kinds of weather! I remember a couple of years ago, a team who was undefeated and traveled to North Praire played the same way NS did, and all we heard was "oh their just a fair weather team"! TGU out played NS bottom line! TGU was the better team last night, and we can"t take anything away from them. NS needs to be able to play in whatever the elements are, then they could be a good team. Playing indoors, or when the sun shines doesn't make them a good team.

TGU was the better team Friday night. NS needs to regroup and come to play this Friday! To be a "contender" you need to be balanced, one thing NS has not showed this year. Congrats to TGU they kicked NS BAD
