I can't believe it took this long for someone to throw that in the face of certain region 1 posters! :)

well seeing as how region 2 beat your #2,3,and 4 seeds in the first round, i dont see how your five and 6 could make playoffs in region 2. it just confuses me.

I just don't get why he still thinks two non playoff teams are better then a playoff team in another region whose region seems to be much better. Especially when the 4 seed was on the same level on the other regions 1 seed..

Hankinson was about the same as Wyndmere-Lidgerwood this year...played them to a 2-point loss (14-12 I think)...so I slightly agree there.

His comment was that Hankinson & Richland could have made State if they were in a different region. That may also be true...could they have made the State playoffs in Region 3 or 4 as the #3 or #4 seed...that's up to opinions.

The main statement at hand was made back on October 20th...so during the first round of the playoffs...things have changed/opinions have changed/etc., since then.

Its all about matchups and game plans...so there are plenty of 'what-ifs' out there.

just my 2-cents on this subject...as I don't have an affiliation with caring about any region right now (that'll change next year)

When does posting on an internet discussion board ever matter?

Take a look at Hillsboro's whole season instead of 1 good half of football. Who did they beat? Sargent Central finished SEVENTH in region 1 and lost to the #1 seed by two points! They lost to the #2 seed by six points! How did the 4,5, 6, and 7 seeds do against the top 3 seeds in region 2?

If you want to look at a 4 seed that was on the same level as another region 1 seed maybe look at LLM and NRS. How did Hillsboro do when they played NRS?

Region 2' beat region 1 in 3 out 4 games. Lets look at the 4 games.
Cav over SB convincingly.
LAE over Napoleon by 3 points.
NRS over LLM by 4 points.

WL over Hillsboro by 27. 0-0 at half b4 hillsboro had some injuries.

Focus on the bolded games. LAE and NRS won by 1 play. Does that make them significantly better than LLM and NGS? Had NGS and LLM made one more play and won those games would that make them significantly better than NRS and LAE?

The answer to both questions is, no. The playoffs proved the playoff teams in both regions were fairly equal, I'll give the edge to R2 because I believe the state champ is coming from there. The difference between the regions was the depth. The 4,5,6, and 7 teams in region 1 competed week and week out with the playoff teams from their region. Go take a look at how the 4,5,6, and 7 teams in region 2 competed with the playoff teams in their region.

take the best player off LAE, Cavalier, or NRS and match them up against Thompson. How do you think Thompson fairs?

Still not close...Thompson was WAY down this year..and one player wouldn't make that big of a difference for any of those 3 teams...IMO

The bottom teams in region 2 were worse than region ones, but I don't see non playoff region one teams making playoffs in region two

Personally just from what I noticed during the year...I think Hankinson could have made it as the #4 in Region 2 over H-CV (Hankinson & H-CV were even teams IMO); but that's the only non-playoff team.
